Double Down Demons (A Ghost Adventures/Zak Bagans Story)

Chapter 4: Getting to know you

I spend the next hour getting ready, take a shower, dry my hair,carefully apply my subtle make up and pick out my outfit. I choose tight jeans, black of course, buckled boots with a small heel, a sheer flowy deep purple top to compliment the violet sheen of my long wavy hair, to top it all off I carefully select some jewellery. A couple of chunky silver rings and a thin black ribbon choker with a small silver charm in the shape of a bat will do it I think. I take a look in the mirror and gasp, I don't quite recognise myself as I realise I got the look I was going for just right for a change and my grey/blue eyes sparkle with excitement.

It was time to go! I gave Rufus a quick kiss and tell him to wish me luck and jump into the cab I had ordered to take me to the hotel. I was full of nervous energy and could barely sit still. The cab driver asked me whether I was going on a date.
"I wish!" I exclaimed.He laughed and said graciously that whoever I was meeting will be asking me on one once they see me. I just grinned in the rear view mirror. We soon arrived and I tipped the friendly driver handsomely and he wished me luck as I almost skipped towards the door. I made sure I was a fashionable 10 minutes late, I didn't want to come across too keen but mostly I am socially awkward as hell and the thought of hanging around in the hotel lobby made me more nervous than meeting the guys. I stepped carefully through the revolving door, trying not to trip, and scanned the foyer. I was so nervous that I barely took in the sumptuous grey and burgundy décor with stylish lights, fashionable cubic furniture and plush carpets. I was focussed on looking for those eyes. I took a few more steps,faltering as I couldn't see Zak or the others anywhere.

"Shit!"I thought, I hope they're not long. I took a side step towards some couches as I contemplated giving Zak a call. Just as I reached for my phone in my back pocket I felt someone grab my hand and spin me around and a small yelp of surprise escapes my lips.

"Tracy! Hi!" Zak greets me, pulls me gently towards him and kisses my cheek. Being a complete klutz and being caught off guard I stumble a little and catch my breath as I finally see those eyes for real. I'm struck dumb for a second as I take in the view that is so much better in real life and revel in the feel of his lips against my cheek. I shake myself out of my daze and quickly smile,

"Hey Zak! Welcome to Australia! So pleased to meet you at last." I realise that I sound very formal and nervous as my butterflies get the best of me.

"Thanks, do you want to come over and meet the others?" He asks and gestures behind him to an alcove that I hadn't noticed when I first arrived.

"Of course I do!" I exclaim not failing to notice that he had still to let go of my hand. Keeping a hold he lead me over to the crew chatting away behind him.

"Guys! Hey, dudes! This is Tracy, the reason we are all here in this beautiful country so y'all better say thanks." He sounded like a teacher keeping his students in check, I suppress a chuckle. "Tracy, I'm sure you know who they all are but I'll make some introductions. This here is Billy."

"Hi,Billy," I smile.

"Pleased to meet you Tracy." He says as he shakes my hand.

"This is Jay." He gives me a shy wave as I greet him.

"And finally this goofball to your right is Aaron." I turn to Aaron to say hi but before I know it I'm nearly knocked off my feet as I'm enveloped in a huge bear hug.

"Pleased to meet you Tracy, thanks for having me! Do you do coffee in Australia?" He asks with concern. I burst out laughing and reassure him that we have coffee and that Melbourne is famous for good coffee and that I'll show him so great places.

"Yay!"He exclaims and I laugh again as his puppy like enthusiasm and at Zak shaking his head out of the corner of my eye.

"So where are we going?" Zak asks me.
