Chapter 48: Promises, patience and self control

"Patience and self control! Those will be the lessons to be learned right now!" Zak laughs as he bends to kiss me softly before hopping off the bed and pulling on a pair of boxer briefs. I groan and try to ignore the ache between my legs making Zak snigger like Muttley as he watches me squirm.

"You are an insufferable tease Bagans!" I whine as I prop myself up on my elbow and watch him dress. He grins his eyes full of mischief, shining bright hazel like I had never seen before. "You're lucky I don't come over there and rip your damn clothes off!" I grumble making Zak splutter with laughter.

"I'd love to see you try!" He goads me.

"Humph don't tempt me," I harrumph as I get up and make my way to the bathroom. Zak grabs me around the waist as as I pass and pulls me close to him, I protest weakly muttering about his teasing, I eventually relent and look up at him only to find him grinning, entertained at my frustration and the scowl on my face.

"Sorry darlin'" He says in an American drawl as he tucks a wayward strand of hair behind my ear. "We'll have to take a rain check, I've got a couple of hours of work to do before I can take the time off for this silly ball, but I'll definitely remember where we left off. I promise." He wrinkles his nose and his eyes shine and he smiles that god damn annoyingly sexy smile, making my tummy flip.

"You better!" I grumble, he snickers softly and bends to give me soft, slow sensual kiss which really does not help matters as I moan against him.

"Now hurry up and shower so I can get to Billy's and get this work done before I have to drop you at the salon later." He pushes me away gently and taps me on the rump not quite so gently.

"Be a frigging cold shower now!" I murmur making him shake his head. "I can walk to the salon you know its not far."

"No being alone remember, them's the rules!" He chides me.

"Ok I have two provisos, one of the others collects me, I don't want you to see me until i'm ready. Secondly I get my alone time next door afterwards to finish up, you can be in here so we can keep each other out of trouble ok?" I emphasise the point that he is not to be alone either.

"Yes m'am you have a deal." He salutes me, I roll my eyes and head to the bathroom still muttering to myself.

Hand in hand we make our way to Billy's , Zak quickly settles down to tweak some editing while I check on whether there are any updates on my ancestry searches. Finding nothing new I spend some time sending messages to Sara and my sister Kate to keep them updated on my whereabouts and reassuring them that I haven't been kidnapped or frightened to death, though I didn't mention anything about my little demon infestation, I'm not sure they would really understand and I would probably find myself wearing a too snug white coat! I flick through facebook and twitter and then proceed to annoy everyone by messing around on snapchat.

"Payback's a bitch ain't it?" I laugh as Zak complains when I stick the phone in his face for the umpteenth time. Trouble is I'm too busy laughing to avoid the hard spank he lands squarely on my behind, the slapping sound reverberates around the whole room.

"Ow, fuck!" I exclaim rubbing my cheek and looking around the room hoping no one had noticed as I turn red and become flustered. Only Aaron seemed aware of what was going down but is wise enough to keep his head down, only his shaking shoulders give away his suppressed laughter and I scowl at his back. Zak removes my hand and replaces it with his own and soothes the sting away.

"I haven't forgotten." He promises quietly with a raised eyebrow, "Patience and self control." I tremble beneath his touch, biting my lip I nod in understanding.

"Good girl, now be patient for half an hour and then we'll get going ok?" I nod again and he motions for me to bend down, as I do he twists his hand in the hair at the back of my neck and kisses me deeply. Dazed I return to sit on the bed and quietly play on my Ipad, not quite believing what had just happened or the effect that he was having on me.

Zak begins packing up as promised and I ask Aaron if he wouldn't mind coming to collect me afterwards. The three of us head off so Aaron can keep Zak company on the way back, I feel like I have my very own entourage. I wave them off as I enter the salon and get ready for my transformation. It takes a good three hours to colour and style my long dark hair but its worth every minute. I now have deep dark red highlights instead of the purple that I had before. It glows richly as it peeks through my naturally dark brunette waves. My hair is curled and pinned loosely on top of my head in a messy Marie Antoinette type pouf, tendrils curl around my face and down my back and flashes of red shine through as I move under the lights. Ruby jewels tastefully adorn the style to add some extra opulence and sparkle. It looked fantastic, better than I imagined my hair could ever look. I texted Aaron asking him to come pick me up and I was made aware of his arrival a few minutes later by a long low whistle.

"Woah! Pompom you look amazing! You're going to make Zak crazy!" His mouth hangs open making me giggle.

"That was my intention," I grin and nod at Aarons hands, "Please tell me one of those is for me." He hands me one of the cups without blinking. "Ummm Aaron this black, cold and half empty!" I nudge him.

"Huh?Oops! Sorry!" He blushes and we swap cups, I take a long gulp of the latte, mmm much better.

We drive back to the hotel and I rush back to my room anxious for Zak not to catch me. Aaron follows me up and heads in to see him.

"Bro, she looks amazing!" I hear him tell Zak.

"She always does bro." I hear Zak reply and I can't help my grin that nearly splits my face in two.

"I can hear you ya know!" I call through the adjoining door, having learned my lesson I didn't want to overhear anything I shouldn't. All I do hear is a quiet thud a hushed 'idiot' and a whiny 'ow!' Poor Aaron!
