Before we were due in Picton we had a couple more free days so we used them to the best of our advantage. We became tourists! We went sightseeing around the famous harbour and even climbed the bridge, we bought souvenirs, had an afternoon at the beach and long lazy lunches. One evening Aaron and I even decided to collaborate on an art piece, it was part mess, part genius and a massive amount of fun. The days went quickly and the nights remained steamy between Zak and I. It was easy to become complacent, though we still never spent time alone it seemed as though the demons were also on holiday. Neither of us felt any darkness or wrong doing and we were more than happy for it to stay that way. With the scratches on my back almost healed it was easy to forget about the beast that caused them, life was good.

Wednesday morning dawned and it was time to make our way to the next location .It was a grey day and there was a chill in the air. I couldn't help dragging my feet a little even though I was excited to see what Picton had to offer, I was loathe to leave the last few days behind us. I soon threw off that thought when the five of us bundled into the RV and started the scenic drive, the surroundings were beautiful and the company was good. It was a relatively short hour and a half drive and we soon arrived at our destination. Picton has a long history for such a young country, it was one of the oldest towns in Australia and its buildings were steeped in atmosphere. It wasn't until we pulled up that Zak told me that the hotel we were staying in was also one of the locations we would be investigating. The George IV, built in 1889 is one of the oldest buildings in Australia and it really looked the part, it oozed presence that only came from a chequered past. I look around the foyer and shiver involuntarily, I can't shake the feeling of unease that comes over me.

We check in with the friendly receptionist and take our things to our rooms. Zak and I are sharing, no longer putting up a pretence of requiring our separate space any more. The room is cute and quaint and very comfortable looking. I throw my bags down and turn taking it all in to find Zak watching me.

"Everything ok sweetie? You've gone quiet." He asks me the concern evident in his voice. I nod.

"Yeah i'm fine, just in a quiet kinda mood ya know?" I try and assure him although the uneasy feeling is still sitting in the pit of my stomach it wasn't bothering me enough to worry Zak with it.

"Yeah I know. Just as long as you're sure you're ok." He insists seemingly not really believing my explanation. I step towards him and go in for a hug without saying a word. He wraps his arms around me and leans his chin on my head as I sink into him, trying to shrink myself down as if to shelter from some unseen force. Eventually Zak pulls away and looks at me quizzically but senses that I don't feel like talking so leaves me be. He has to make some calls to finalise the details for the lockdowns so I decide to take a nap in the hopes that I will feel better when I wake. Before I know it i'm being woken by Zak in the twilight of the falling night having slept a lot longer than I intended yet not feeling rested at all. I yawn and stretch looking up at Zak who is still watching me intently.

"Hello."I smile up at him.

"Hi," He smiles back, "How are you feeling?" He asks again.

'Bleurgh!" Is all I am able to articulate and he nods as if he expected it.

"You were tossing and turning and mumbling the whole time you were asleep, I figured you wouldn't be feeling so great." He tells me. "Do you remember what you were dreaming about?" I shake my head.

"Nope, no idea." I punctuate with another long yawn and he frowns. "I'm ok though, honestly." I reassure him and sit up giving him a kiss.

"Ok, well freshen up, we're meeting the others and going for a walk around the town and then we'll get some dinner." He tells me and as I get out of bed and head to the bathroom his eyes don't leave me.

"I'm ok Zak, really." I tell him again, he nods in acknowledgement but the expression on his face doesn't change as I shut the door behind me.
