Remember me? (Choromatsu x Reader)

"When we get older, I promise that I will ask you out on many dates and we will get married too!" Little you said to your best friend, Matsuno Choromatsu.

His face turned unbelievably red, making you giggle at him.

"You look like a tomato, Choro!!!" You swung his hands slightly and pressed a gentle kiss on his cheek (you were five. You didn't know any better.....)

"S-stop (y/n)-chan...." He begged, embarrassed.

"I'm going to miss you, Choro-kun!" You beamed, squeezing the life out of your friend.

"I'll miss you too...."

Suddenly, all serious, you looked him dead in the eyes. He got scared.

"Make me a promise. Don't forget me." You said quietly.

"Only if you promise the same."

"Deal?"

"Deal."

That was the last conversation you had with Choromatsu before your family moved away to a new town that was miles away from your home. Leaving your best friend behind you was one of the hardest things you ever had to do, but you had to leave, so you tried to move on.

You grew up, remembering Choromatsu and the promise you had made him many years ago. You doubted that he even remembered you, but you paid to mind to it. As years went by, you made and lost many friends and had a few lovers along the way. No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't get your mind off of Choromatsu.

"Ey? What's the matter (y/n)-chan?" Your friend Dani asked in concern as the two of you watched 'That 70's Show' on Netflix.

She paused the show and looked at you.

"(Y/n)....."

"S-Sorry Dani! I was lost in thought...."

She sighed and used her thumb to wipe your cheek. "You're crying. What's wrong....?"

You felt silly for being upset over some promise you made almost 2 decades ago, but you needed to see Choromatsu again.

"Promise not to make fun of me?"

She nodded. "I promise. Cross my heart, worth to die, stick a cupcake in my eye."

You chuckled.

"When I was little, about five years old, I had a best friend named Choromatsu. He was a real dork but all in all really sweet. I made a promise to him a long time ago before I moved that we would go on a lot of dates and get married when we grew up. I know now that that sounds unrealistic, marrying a man I haven't seen in 16 years. But I want to go visit him.... Is that weird?"

She looked at you in awe before fangirling.

"OH MY GOSH THAT IS SO CUTE! GIRL LOVES A BOY WHO SHE HASN'T SEEN IN FOREVER! I NEED TO WRITE FANFICTION ABOUT THIS!!!!!"

"Dani.... Stop....."

"No! We are getting you back to Japan and you are going to see him! And you are going to live there again! Congrats! You're moving!"

You were taken aback. "Dani I can't just move. And you know I hate being alone......"

"Then I'll move with you!"

"Dani! We can't just move!"

"Yes we can! We work good enough and have enough money to leave! Who's stopping us?"
