Betrayed

Detention Pt.2

After 1st period, I've been really pissed off. Not only do I have detention, I have to also deal with Taylor once I get home late.

I know she's gonna snap at me for being late but hey, it's not my fault.

"So she gave you a detention?" Nick asked to confirm the story I just told them.
"Of course she did." I scoffed, taking a few sips of my iced water.

"Yikes Audrey, what's going on with you two." Connor asked while sitting down with his tray of food.
"Nothing, she's the problem. Her and her weird stares and constantly getting on me for no reason." I explained.

"And when I call her out on it, she tries to go with the Mr. Price thing, like I'm not afraid of his old ass." I chuckled.

"Well maybe she has a reason behind her stares and why she does what she does.." Mia suggested.
"She's only been here for like a week, what could possibly be the reason?"

"Who knows.." Connor shrugs.

The silence filled once again as everyone sat at the table eating their food.

We all sat quietly for about 3 minutes until Connor said something that caught our attention.
"Well I see they have a nerve to show up." He mumbled while shaking his leg up and down, he's still pissed that he found out Ariana cheated on him obviously.

We all looked over to Ariana and Xavier who walked inside the cafeteria holding hands.

We watched them in silence as they both walked all the way towards the lunch line.

Suddenly Nick started coughing which was totally fake.
"Hoe." He coughed loudly.

Mia gasped and smacked him on the arm, while I had my eyebrows raised to the max.
"He ain't lying." Connor spoke before biting down on his taco.

I shook my head and finished the rest of my food. Today the cafeteria was busy today. It usually isn't because mostly everyone would eat inside the other cafeteria. I guess today they decided not to.

"Where's Liam?" Connor asked me as I sat back down after throwing my tray away.
"He said he had a family emergency and that he couldn't make it to school today. He also told me that it wasn't a big deal so we didn't have to—"

"Excuse me? Are you Connor McCoy?" A security guard who works at our school, asks Connor.
"Yes?" He responded.

"The principal wants to see you.." He says and we all immediately exchange looks.
"Alright.." Connor replies as he gets to leave the cafeteria with the security guard.

I turned to the two left at the table.
"What if it's about the fight between him and Xavier." I whispered.

"To be honest, there's no 'What If'....it is about the fight between them two. I just hope he doesn't get in deep trouble." Mia says while swiping on her phone.
"Knowing this wack ass of a school, he's probably gonna get suspended..." Nick said before drinking his Gatorade.
"But Connor had a reason to beat up Xavier, and we all know what that reason is now.." I explain.

"Yeah you're absolutely right but if Connor tells them the actual reason why he did what he did, they're gonna question him further and he already said himself that we don't need anyone else involved...so whatever consequences he has, he's gonna have to get through them."
