"You don't know?" I questioned. Ever since the moment she kissed me, my voice has been at its low tone. Get a grip Leah. Control yourself, she's still the horrible person you've known all your life.
"No." She mumbled once again, but since it's quiet except our loud pounding heartbeats from the close heat of our bodies.I took my eyes off her and snuck a little glance at her lips before they trailed down to the distance between us.
I didn't say anything after that as I let the silence kick in. My arms were getting a little tired as they were still in the air above my head, trapped by her right hand. I can't believe she actually kissed me. And I didn't tell her to stop......that's what has me shook to its finest.
Why didn't I kiss her back? Why didn't I stop her? The answer is........I honestly don't have a clue..
"Here, take these.." She dug into her jacket pocket to bring out a pair of keys. She let go of my hands and I gladly dropped them to my sides. She then took my left hand and placed the keys there, closing it shortly afterwards.
"What are these keys to?" I asked, keeping my eyes attached to my hand that she held.
"This house that we're in........I want you to have it...." I looked up at her in confusion. Why was she just handing this over to me?"Why are you giving me the keys to this house?" I asked highly confused.
"Because you deserve this after everything you've been through........this area is not too far from our hometown, so Lexi and Audrey can still get to and from school everyday, and you can also get to work on time but I suggest you leave out a little bit early in the mornings if you guys wanna make it on time........it's the least I could do after all the things I've put you guys through.......and lastly," She paused make me look into her eyes. Her face was extremely close to mine. I don't think I can hold this back any longer....."I want to do anything that I can to prove to you that everything I said is one-hundred percent true...." She added, making me drop my hands with the keys in there. Was she really giving me these keys to this house?
"Wait, if you're giving me these keys........where does that leave you? Are you going somewhere or something?" I questioned her as I threw the keys inside my pocket but my hand stayed there for some odd reason.
"I have a passport and a little extra money left over to get me out of here...I'll just go somewhere else where they can't find me. If they find me, they'll find you three as well so it's best if I stay as far as I can away from you guys."I suddenly squinted my eyes at her.
"So you finally found a way to confess your feelings towards me, made your way into kissing me, handed me your keys to your house...and now you're telling me you're about to get on a plane and leave to who knows where?" I questioned in slight disbelief. She didn't respond right away as she sighed deeply.
"Leah, it's the only way for you to stay safe.....if I stay here near you guys, they're gonna find me and then they're gonna threaten-"
Not letting her finish her sentence, I grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her lips closer towards me. It didn't take her long before I felt force push towards my direction as she grabbed me by my waist. Our lips moved into sync but soon ended when I removed mine from hers. What the hell did I just do?
I suddenly shook my head, not agreeing with her idea and grabbed her face to touch her cheeks so I can make sure her eyes where on me.
"Look..............I know that you want me to forgive you for all the things that've you done. Yes, some day I will get over it but I'll never forget these memories. I know that you'll become a better person as the days and nights pass but you have to stay here with us. We need you here............as crazy as this sounds but.......I need you here..."
What the hell was I doing? Just a few minutes ago I was going off on her about what she did....Man, I really need to get a grip....
"I'm sorry Leah, but I can't........I've done enough damage to a lot of people here.....it's time for me to go...." She muttered as she pressed her forehead against mine.I didn't say anything else as I let her go and went around her towards the sink again and bent over it to look in the mirror.
I wanted to scream all of this out. This can't happen................but deep down.......I know it has to.....
"When are you planning on leaving?" I mumbled, I was afraid I'd burst out crying if I spoke louder."Tonight......the sooner the better......" She replied, making me look down at the sink..
I didn't say anything as I let out a loud deep breath. She suddenly made her way towards me and tried to touch me but I unexpectedly back away from her and went around her towards the door to leave.....
I needed to eat..Getting something inside my stomach was my current goal right now..
I went downstairs and looked at everyone sitting down, staring at the big screen TV..
I suddenly went towards Audreys direction and flopped down next to her while she sat up with her wounded leg.
"You were up there for awhile..........what happened between you two?" She asked, making me tense and rub the back of my neck.....
"Uh, nothing..." I replied, keeping my eyes on the screen to avoid her stares."I saw the tattoo of your name on her arm before you did.....so you don't have to lie to me about what's going on with you two-"
"I just said nothing happened....." I repeated a little harshly, intentionally cutting her off.
She looked at me for a little longer before turning her head back towards the TV...
