-------"I can't believe you got us kicked out." I shook my head playfully as I got onto the expressway. Morgan was munching on some caramel popcorn she bought. And didn't even have the nerve to share? Isn't that something?
"Hey, it wasn't my fault." She protested while laughing a little as I switched lanes, since the person infront of me apparently was driving a bit too slow.
"Yes it is. You kept going up to strangers asking if they had an extra pair of underwear that you could borrow." I laughed, still thinking about it. It was hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing about it. The people's face expressions were priceless."Well I had to make this day somewhat better than just coming to the mall and spending money." She shrugged as she closed up the bag, reaching for her blue raspberry slushee.
"And you did. So thanks. I actually had fun today." I looked over at her and smiled. If it wasn't for Lexi begging me to get out the house, I wouldn't be sitting here.
"No problem...and Hey, I gotta do what I gotta do." She sassed her hair in a cocky way as I stopped at a red light. Now I know you guys are probably asking what went down with that lady earlier...
Well, don't get all hyped because nothing really happened. I didn't get any questions or answers out of her like I really wanted to because those guys that were watching me, found their way to make her leave. They overheard our conversation when it started and made sure it didn't end because she probably was gonna say something that was good for my benefit and bad for theirs so.....No luck on that. I hope I catch her one day again.
"What are you doing this weekend?" She asked, pulling me away from my thoughts."Umm, nothing that I know of, why?"
"I was thinking we could catch a movie and maybe go back to my place or something like that for the night?" She suggested as I turned down the street to her house.
"That's sounds good, just text me what time and I'll prepare for it." I replied, pulling into her driveway. It was dark outside and I needed to get home so that I could cook dinner.
"Alright, that's cool."She unbuckled her seatbelt and then looked at me.
"Thanks for picking me up. I could've drove but you insisted so." She chuckled making me smile.
"No problem." I smiled back as she got out and close the door.
"Call me when you make it home." She said as she made it to her doorway, holding a bunch of bags.
"I will and see you later."
"Behave!" I yelled the last part with a smirk and she flipped me off.I laughed and reversed out the drive way, and down the street.
--------
"I'm backk!" I sung loudly as I closed the door, making sure it was locked, and sat my bags on the counter in the kitchen.
Tyler came into the kitchen with a PS4 controller in his hand.
"It's about time. Your daughter was about to beat the crap out of me because she keeps losing." He chuckled as Lexi came in with an upset face behind him.
"Because you're cheating and it's unfair." She crossed her arms with her phone in her hands.
"No, you're just.......weak."She jumped at him and he flinched, laughing at her.
I shook my head at them and took my coat off, hanging it up in the closet.
Since Tyler is like family to me, and I trust him. I figured that there shouldn't be a problem with him watching Lexi. At first I was a little worried when he first started watching her, but once I started to notice that she was getting comfortable with his presence, I started to relax. I insisted on paying him since he didn't have to do it but he kept telling me that he'll do it for free. He's so damn sweet it's crazy. I'm just glad I met him that day when I did.
"Do you wanna stay for dinner or what?" I asked him as I began washing my hands.
"Nah, I would love to but I gotta go
home and get ready for work." He sighed while putting his shoes by the door.
"Oh you work night shifts now?" I asked, ready to rinse the chicken off from some Chicken Alfredo.
"Yeah, I do. More money, the better right?" He swung his jacket on.I nodded and saw Lexi going up stairs since her phone started ringing.
"Any news from Audrey?" I asked, while rinsing the last chicken off.
"Nope. I can't really go over there and speak with any of them because there's about two dudes following me around at all times." He explained, making me shake my head.I exhaled loudly, and threw my hands on top of my head.
"It's been two fucking months. How long are they going with this?" I asked, in a now pissed off mood.
"Chill Leah. You're gonna get her back, okay? Trust me on this." He began speaking in his serious tone.
"How, when we're being watched almost 24/7? They follow us every freaking where.""Not for long.."
I stopped what I was doing and looked at him.
"What do you mean, not for long?" I asked, crossing my arms at him.
"Don't worry about it, I'll swing by later.." He said as turned to open the door."Tyler." My voice grew stern. I have a feeling he's gonna do something terribly stupid. Please don't tell me he's gonna try and kill them.
He spun around and took a deep breath. He didn't look at me because he knew I wasn't gonna like what he's about to say.
"I'm gonna take care of them." He said, finally looking at me.I opened my mouth but nothing came out.
"Tyler.....no. I can't let you do that." I shook my head.
"Why, not?"
"Because, I already feel bad for dragging you into this mess in the first place and I don't want anything bad happening to you if something went wrong." I explained to him. Trying to get him to understand.
"No, don't feel bad. I wanted to get involved in this which is why I'm gonna do what I have to do."He turned around to leave when I grabbed his arm.
"Tyler, stop." I yanked his arm. I wanted to get angry at him but at the same time I get why he wants to help."Look," I closed my eyes for a split second.
Since I knew I wasn't going to change his mind, I had to at least make sure he isn't alone.
"If.....you're gonna take them out.....promise me. That you have other people with you." I whispered just in case Lexi was listening. He looked at me.
"Okay. I promise."
He agreed, nodding his head.
"I'll call two of my guys to help me out on this. Once the job is done, I'll stay here for a couple days to make sure you guys are okay, and stuff like that, because I'm pretty sure they're gonna come here after they find out."I felt some relief when he said that he had other people to help him out. Thank god. I can't have him out there by himself. He's gonna get killed it he does.
"Okay.....fine." I nodded my head. Hoping that nothing goes bad. We don't need any of that right now at the moment.
He looked at me before waving goodbye, leaving out the front door.
After I heard his truck zoom down the street, I pulled two pots out so that I could continue cooking for the night.
Please be careful, Tyler.
