Leah's POV"You're not getting anywhere with this, Audrey!"
I yelled across the room as she ignored my comment, violently attempting to turn the living room upside down."Then tell me where is it!" She snapped straight up after looking behind the couch that sat across from the TV. Jordan was standing beside me with her arms crossed as we both watched Audrey turn back towards the living room and continued her "search". Which by the way, is unnecessary because the thing she's looking for is purposely hidden for her own safety.
"Can't do that." Jordan mumbled under her breath as she glared at Audrey. These two unfortunately, aren't on the best terms either considering back to the argument we all just had about ten minutes ago."Why not?" She quickly answered, flipping through a bunch of magazines that sat on top of the bookcase.
"Because there's a risk behind this. If you take those pills and don't come back, then what?" I rose an eyebrow.
She finally stopped rambling through everything she could get her hands on and looked at me.
"I thought you said that chance was yet to be verified.""But those were the doctor's words. We haven't seen the doctor in years. We don't know exactly what will happen when you take those pills."
"So let's find him, then. Have him break it down and explain everything." I sighed deeply and closed my eyes for a split second.
"Oh! Even better yet, call Mom and Dad. I'm pretty sure they are the main ones responsible for this nonsense." She added, flopping down on the couch while grabbing a pillow from the floor and holding it against her chest."Actually they're not responsible.....no one is to be honest....I-It was just a horrible accident that cost most of your memory to be lost.....just because we have what it takes to bring it back.....doesn't mean we can just rush into it without thinking of everything first. We need to dig into these pills more and figure out if letting you take these are the right thing to do........we lost you once, Audrey...............can't lose you again." Jordan spoke softly as she made her way over to the couch and sat down next to her..
When Jordan tried to touch her hand, Audrey got up quickly, making her flinch in the process.
"How could you two keep this a secret this whole time?!" She went back to shouting as she paced back and forth infront of the coffee table.I've never seen Audrey this mad before and it's shocking me a bit, honestly. Little does she know that we couldn't tell her because we'd already given up hope on bringing her memory back. But when Xavier told me he gave her the bottle that our parents delivered to him, I knew that there was still a chance. I didn't want her finding out by opening it and figuring out what it was before she could learn some of the truth, so I took it and hid it somewhere safe until it was the right time for her to use it.
"We did it to keep you safe." Jordan gritted through her teeth as she tried her best to remain calm.It was definitely about one in the morning and I know I wasn't going to bed with this situation like this.
"Safe? From what?." She chuckled as she shook her head, looking at me.
"Look, Audrey. We get that you're upset. But you cannot blame us for trying to protect you."
"Is that your only excuse for everything or are you just that bad at coming up with lies." She squinted her eyes at me, making me chew on the inside of my jaw.Jordan looked at her disbelief after glancing at me to see my reaction to her hurtful comment.
"You know what, Audrey?" I began shaking my head at her as sighed deeply once again, looking down at my feet.
"I really hope that we can get to the bottom of this chaos that's going on because I can see that it's starting to tear a hole between us and that is absolutely the last thing I want to happen. Listen, I'm not really too happy about you getting your memory back because it may or may not work and something terribly can go wrong, but hopefully we can find more information about this so you can stop trying to become the asshole you are.""I'm the asshole here?" She pointed to herself.
"I find that so typically ironic coming from you." She spat as she stormed past me with a hard bump to the shoulder and up the stairs to her room.
Her door slammed a few moments later, leaving me and Jordan alone in silence.
"......Well, then." Jordan broke the silence, clearing her throat as she suddenly got up form the couch.
"I guess I'm gonna go. Got school in the morning so off I go.........let me know what time you're coming to pick me up, okay?" She said to me as she passed by, heading for the door..
I nodded in response, suddenly feeling the urge to say something but I couldn't get it out until she was almost out the door.
"Jordan?" I called her, making her spin around."She won't be mad at us forever, you know? She just needs time processing all of this. I'm positive she'll come around. Trust me." I reassured her as I walked towards the door with my arms still folded.
"I know.......it's just I really want this work.....I want her to actually remember me. Not by words but by memory...........it's painful to wake up everyday knowing your twin sister doesn't really know who you are and can't remember all the childhood things you've done together before we all got separated...........I just want her back." Her voice cracked, immediately notifying me that she was about to cry and I took no time in bring her back in to comfort her.I sighed as she sobbed in tears. "We're gonna get her back, okay? Apparently there still might be a chance and we should act upon it before we miss it...........soon she'll remember all of us...." I mumbled to her, letting out a tear of my own as I closed my eyes.
