Time had past and it was now the afternoon, meaning that school was over and I could get on the bus and go home. Today was a bit weird, considering the fact that I know Leah must've done something in order for the police to arrive at my school and take Mia in questioning, which is good for us by the way. I'm not complaining or anything like that, I'm sort of relieved. There's absolutely no way she can hold that phone against us now after they question her down at the station because then it'll only make her even more suspicious then she already is.

Take that bitch.

"What goes on?" I heard a familiar deep voice say behind me. I turned around to see Tyler pulling up beside me in his truck, rolling the window down completely so that I could see his face.

I smiled, "Hey, what are you going here?" I asked with a little bit of confusion as I stopped walking on my crutches.

"I'm here to pick you up. Leah's request." He announced, turning his music all the way down. I continued to look around until my eyes landed on a familiar figure as she stared at me while leaning on her car before taking her phone out and began to type on it. Wow, I didn't even know she knew how to drive until now.

I looked back at Tyler,
"Um, actually I already have a ride. Thanks anyway."
"You do? Who?" He asked, making me look over at Jordan as she tapped on her phone, and then suddenly my phone vibrated in my pocket.

"Jordan." I answered him and he rose his eyebrow before pulling out his phone.
"Did Leah say it's okay for you to do that?" He questioned me again as I pulled my phone out to look at the text message she sent me.
"No.......why do I need her permission to just get a ride with someone and Jordan isn't a stranger." I looked up from my phone at him, the tone in my voice had a little bit of irritation to it but I didn't let go of it.

"Because of what's been happening lately. She just wants you to be safe." He tried making the situation stay calm but I wasn't for it.
"Yeah, and I get that but I'm almost an adult so she doesn't always get to control what I can and can't do." I fired back.

"Audrey, just tell Jordan you'll ride with her some other time and just get in the car." He told me but I shook my head before stepping back and walking towards Jordan's direction.

"Audrey." I heard him call out to me but I kept going towards the car as Jordan watched with her eyes on him.
"Hurry up and drive off so he doesn't follow us." I quickly said, making her move towards the driver side and hop in at the same time as me.
She immediately started the engine, and pulled off out of the school parking lot before Tyler could catch up with us.

"What was that all about?" She suddenly had the nerve to asked as I fastened my seatbelt.
I shrugged, "I guess Leah wanted him to pick me up from school but since you were there and you wanted to talk, I figured I'd just ride with you and then later take me home. Then he asked me if Leah gave me permission to go with you like she's my mother." I scoffed afterwards before glancing out of the window. I don't like being told what to do. Matter of fact, nobody likes being told what to do, so therefore I'm gonna do what I wanna do for once this time.

"You know what I'll just call her and tell her that you're with me so that she doesn't get all freaked hearing it from-"

My ringtone began blaring from my back pocket, cutting her off. I rolled my eyes and pulled it out, already knowing who it was.
"Hello?" I answered, not looking at the caller ID.

"Where are you?" She suddenly asked with a bit of stern in her voice.
"Didn't Tyler tell you? I'm with Jordan, is that a problem?" I suddenly snapped.
"Yes, it's a problem. You know what happens whenever you're not with me. They could be watching us right now and by you being in sight gives them an advantage."
"How does that give them advantage? They always pop up whenever they want regardless if I'm with you or not so at this point it doesn't fucking matter anymore. Obviously they don't wanna kill us because if they did we would be dead by now. Don't you get that?!"

"And how would you know that? What if they're just waiting for the right time for them and the wrong time for us to do it? You don't know anything about their plans on us so just tell Jordan to turn around and bring you home."
"Now." She demanded in her sternest voice she's ever had. It sort of had my heart racing in a way I've never had but just because I was now seeing her angry side doesn't mean I was gonna give up my point. I was tired of not being able to enjoy my teenage life because of how fucked up it's become. I need to get out and do something like most seventeen year olds.

"I'm not coming home right now, Leah. Now you either accept that or don't. See you later tonight."

"Don't you hang up on-" I pressed the red button and ended the call, not caring what she had to say before I did. I turned my phone off so she couldn't call me back and then dropped it onto my lap.
"So what happened?" She suddenly asked as we got onto a highway full of traffic.

"She wants me home because she's being worried like always and I told her that I'll be home tonight. She's not my mother, she's my sister and I believe she's just confused on which role she think she can play as." I spat out. I was a bit angry at her for always trying to keep me in the house. I deserved to be out and about with my friends, going to movies and to the mall. But noooo, we have psychotic human beings after us all because of our parents stupid decisions before we were both born.

"Well I know you don't wanna hear this but she's right. I mean look at your leg. You got shot. Who knows what's gonna happen next to you."
"Yeah I know but that doesn't fear me. The only thing that fear me is death and if they're too scared to kill me then I'm not afraid of them. They don't have the guts to do it, and they think I don't know that but I do. So they can continue their game as long as they want. I'm not gonna play anymore."

"But they're still coming after you, Audrey. I know you've been shot in the leg by Mia and—"

I suddenly squinted my eyes, glaring at her.
"How do you know that?" I questioned her as we stopped behind a car on the highway. There must be an accident or something ahead.

She pressed her lips together as she looked back at the road since it started moving again.
"Leah told me. Me and her have been talking here and there about stuff."

"What stuff?" I started to become nosy. Because it seems to me that these two know a lot of secrets that I don't know about.

She looked at me and didn't respond as we got off the highway from passing the traffic finally and then stopped at a red light.
"That's what I wanna talk to you about but Leah won't let me. She thinks you're not ready but I keep telling her that time is running out fast and you need to know now before it's too late."

"Know what?" I sat up in my seat, facing her with concern and curiosity. Now this seemed like something serious and I desperately wanna know.
"You'll know in a few minutes. I'm taking you to some place I call home."

"Wait you live by yourself?" I asked as we turned right on a busy street, crowded by a lot of people that seemed angry.

"No. I live with my adoptive parents." She said, making me raise both of my eyebrows.
