I looked at Taylor in slight confusion as she stared at me back.
"If it wasn't for her, I honestly wouldn't be here rather you believe it or not." Audrey explained to me as I kept my full attention on Taylor. Was this part of her 'act'? Who she's trying to fool? Me?I took a glance around everyone that had their eyes on me until I heard a door slam on the other side of the truck and came into view was a boy dressed into a gray hoodie with some dark pants.
I've seen this boy before.....maybe from Audrey's school...
"Taylor is the one who brought Audrey to the hospital because she was unfortunately stabbed and shot in the leg by our dear friend Mia." He defended Taylor, summarizing what happened.Well sort of..............I wanted to hear this from her. I don't know why but I do. Because she's seriously confusing the hell out of me. At one point she's trying to make my life as miserable as possible and then tell me that she has feelings for me and now she suspiciously helps my sister after she caused harm to her a few times before? I mean what the fuck is her problem? Issues much?
I watched as Connor and Nick's eyes stare at Xavier while he stared back, not saying a word. What the hell happened between them?
I shifted my eyes at Taylor, "Is that true?" I questioned her with an eyebrow raised.
She didn't say anything yet as she stared at me a little longer before opening her mouth. "Yeah,"
"It's true." She added while clearing her throat. The air got quiet immediately after that as we continued to stare at each other, well more like I tried to read her mind before a loud honk broke the eye contact, making everyone jump and turn behind us.
There was a car that was behind us, honking for us to get out of the way. Possibly angry that it was so many of us standing in the street instead of the empty sidewalk.
We all stepped aside on the sidewalk so the car can pass and then we separated just enough. "We all need to have a discussion on what's gonna happen next, anyone have any ideas or suggestions where we can go that's safe?" I spoke but my eyes remained on Taylor until half of my sentence before I glanced at everyone until my eyes landed on Audrey. "Are you okay?" I walked over to her as she leaned against the truck for support.
"Yeah I'm okay, I just really need to sit down, I'm tired of standing just on one leg."
I nodded and rubbed her shoulder before I turned around to the group.
"I know a place....." Taylor's voice rose up and took the keys out of her jacket pocket. Her boldness seem gone into the thin air for awhile, I wonder when it's coming back. Wait no I don't.
"No one knows about it so.....follow me." She said as she turned back to the truck and Xavier followed her and walked to the other side of the vehicle when I stopped him. "Do you mind if I ride with her? I have a few things I would like to discuss with her in private and it needs to be done now." I asked him as I looked him in the eyes to show him that I was being serious. We heard the car door close, meaning she got inside and then we saw everyone else get back in the other vehicles to follow behind her.
"Sure, don't try and hurt her again." He said to me as he walked over to where Audrey was. She looked at me with a worried face and I gave her a nod to reassure her that I was gonna be fine and nothing was going to happen.
I watched as Xavier and Eason helped her inside the truck and then I finally went for the door handle to open it and got in. Once I got in, she looked at me with her eyes a little wide because she thought I was Xavier. I glared at her as she started the engine up, putting on my seatbelt. My phone suddenly vibrated as I picked it up for like the fifth time today, considering the fact that I was so busy with today and everything that happened.
It was a text message from Tyler saying to keep my anger from lashing out on her again because we need her for answers. I agreed to listen to him even though I knew I wasn't gonna attack her again, however she deserves more and I think we all know that by now.
Before I began to speak, I turned my ear mic off so that no one could hear our conversation..
"What's the sudden change?" I asked her with a little bit of sternness in my voice. She looked at me and back at the road as we where now down the street at a stop sign. "I don't know." She mumbled, making me curse inside my head. Please don't start playing this dumb game.
"Yes you do know." I corrected her and she sighed deeply."No," She denied once again.
"I honestly don't-" She shrugged, keeping her eyes on the car infront of us.
"You know what, Taylor? You do know, you just won't tell me. And why is that?" I cut her off, raising my voice as I sat up straight in the seat, turning my body towards her direction and she glared at me for cutting her off.
"Because lately, I've been in my deep thoughts about your actions recently and it's confusing the fuck out of me." I went off on her. She didn't say anything as she kept driving.
"Sounds like a personal problem." She remarked back, making me raise my eyebrows at her. "Oh really?" I questioned her and she looked at me."Pull over." I demanded, glaring her dead in the eyes.
"What? Hell no." She rejected as the green light came into view.
"Obviously you wanna play this game right now and I seriously don't have time for you." I unbuckled my seatbelt and put my phone in my pocket.
"What the hell are you doing?" She kept glancing at me and back on the road.I ignored her as we came to another light and I pressed the unlock button and reached for the door handle when she grabbed my arm and yanked it before it opened, making me fly back into the seat. She locked the door and I glared at her in sudden anger, about ready to pound her face in. "Touch me again." I warned her as she rolled her eyes and scoffed as I sat there with my leg shaking up and down.
"Put your damn seatbelt on and calm down." She shook her head at me as I looked at her once again. "Why should I? It's not like you're gonna be mature enough to talk?" I shrugged with a bit of annoyance in it. I was suddenly irritated at the moment and she was making it drag out even more.I watched as she exhaled deeply as her nose went up.
"Fine...............I'll talk. But that's only on one condition-" She added.
"Which is." I immediately replied, making her look at me. Oh you're not the only getting worked up around here.
"You have to listen....and hear me out........no matter what......." She mumbled the last part, making me squint my eyes at her in confusion. What does she mean about no matter what?"Okay, deal......"
"Start talking...." I added after that.
