"Okay, before I throw out my idea. Anyone have any suggestions?""Follow her. See what she's up to?" Connor shrugged and we all immediately looked at him, "Connor, you do realize how dangerous she is. We can't risk anything happening right now." Hailey replied to Connor, disagreeing with his plan.
"Well, we can't just stand here and let her do whatever she's planning on doing. She could be lighting up this place right now and we wouldn't know because we're all just standing here and not doing anything. Mia thinks that she has power over us. That changes tonight, okay? We're gonna find out where Nick is.
Additional to finding her and shutting her down before she tries to do anything. Are we all in? I'm sorry, I ended up ruining you guys night.
I wanted tonight to be memorable......but....""You didn't ruin our night, Audrey. Mia did."
"Right, blame her and her fucked up mind." Hailey added, smirking just a bit at me to get me to smile, which I managed to do after a few seconds.I sighed and looked at everyone back and forth, debating on rather or not that we were about to make the right choice by hunting down Mia.
"Okay, so to my guess for starters. I believe that Nick is with Mia. It's the only logical reason he'd disappear like this without telling anyone where he was. So the first thing we need to do is—"A sudden vibration pattern interrupted me, making me pause from speaking and glance down at my purse to pull out my phone.
It's probably Leah calling to check up on—
"It's Nick." I announce loudly and everyone came closer around my phone to look at the caller ID name and one of Nick's photo attached to it.
"Answer it." Tyler motioned towards my phone and I nodded quickly, pressing the green button and stepping away from the music as far as possible before saying hello."Hello?"
"Oops, did I call the wrong number? Sorry."
I heard a voice giggle on the other end, instantly letting my left hand ball into a fist.
I knew it.
She does have Nick. Why does she have his phone? Was she kidnapping him?!
"Where's Nick?" I asked sternly, clearly not in the mood for her innocent act right now."Right here next to me." "Unconscious." She added, making my anger boil even more.
"And he'll remain that way permanently if you and your little crew don't make it here in time. Time is always ticking. So if you want him?""Come get him." She whispered deviously, and with that she hung up.
I still had the phone at my right ear, not sure what I should do, until there was small vibration on my ear, instantly I pulled the phone away from me and looked to see a new message from Nick.....well Mia.
—Saint Crest Hill River, over by the docks with the shed. Better hurry before he drowns ;)
I gasped silently, furious at Mia for even stooping down to this level to not only target Nick, but the boy she used to date. Did she date him for the money too? I'm pretty sure.
"Guys. We have to go. Now." I instructed firmly to ensure them that we couldn't waste any time and turned around to head for the entrance.Once I was outside I immediately opened my phone and went to Google Maps to type in the location that Mia sent me.
"We need a ride." I stammered quickly, looking around at everyone.
"To where? What happened?"
"It was Mia. She has Nick and she has him unconscious and plans to drown him in a river called.....Saint Crest Hill, if we don't make it there in time. We don't have much time left.""Holy shit, um..." Connor responded, throwing his hands over his head while pacing around a bit.
"This bitch is crazy. Oh my god." Hailey half shouted in disbelief as we scanned the parking lot. "Hang on, I got someone that's nearby that'll help us." Tyler came closer to us whole on his phone.
