We both stared at each other for about 10 seconds until I finally looked down to see who got stabbed. Unfortunately, it was me. Somehow she managed to reverse the front of the knife towards my direction and plunged it into the right side of my rib. The pain didn't kick in until she let go of the knife, backing away from me. It was too much to describe all at once, as I collapsed to the floor again. My breathing became heavier as I looked up at her in complete disbelief. No words came out as my mouth hung open from the shock I was in. I couldn't actually believe that I just gotten stabbed by my own best friend. Well, at least that's what I thought she was.
"I-I didn't want to do it but...you left me no choice." She said in whisper as she also remained in shock of what just happened. Time was running out and I was definitely gonna bleed to death if I don't get immediate medical attention.I looked back down at the knife that was still halfway down in the side of body and grabbed the handle. My hands were shaking as I was terrified of the pain to come. I needed to get the knife out as soon as possible so that I could cover the wound up before it catches an infection or even worse.
"Fuck, this is gonna hurt like hell." I gritted through my teeth as I prepared to snatch the knife out of my rib. It was the only choice I really had at the moment and I wasn't just gonna sit and let her watch me suffer.I slowly counted to five before I squeezed my eyes tightly and snatched the knife out of my rib, slightly screaming in pain. Breathing heavily, fighting the urge not to cry, I opened my eyes to see Mia still standing there with an emotionless expression on her face as if she cared less that I was in pain. "This is a bit amusing, don't you think?" She grinned as she leaned against the table once again. "Go to hell." I growled as I threw the bloody knife towards the opposite direction of me. I was too frightened to look down at my side so I kept my eyes on her.
She suddenly smiled at me as she went over towards the direction I threw the knife and picked it up, examining it and took it back to the table. "This seems like it needs to be cleaned off." She mumbled to knife, touching my blood that was covering the knife. Very small drops were falling on the floor.
"I'll be right back." She announced as she disappeared into the dark, opening a door and closing it. I started to feel somewhat relief that we weren't in the same room together for now. I couldn't stand to see her presence anymore. She showed me who she really was and I'll never forget that. She wasn't real from the start and she definitely isn't now.
"Leah, where are you?" I breathed out as I let a tear fall from my left eye. "I need you." I mumbled as I did a short gasp from the pain that remained there."Aww, lil sister needs her big sister's help and comfort." I heard someone say from behind me. The tone in her voice was the sound of a kid whining about not getting what they want. I clenched my jaw at the thought of not really remembering anything from my childhood. It's all a blur. "Sorry but she's not saving you this time even if she tried. This place has been abandoned for years.....Looks like you're still stuck with us." She informed me as she dried the knife off with a small towel. The knife was wept clean. As if nothing ever happened with it. "She'll find me. And she'll also end you and everyone else that's involved."
"Is that so?" She questioned me with an eyebrow raised. When I didn't say anything, she walked towards me and crouched below until she was infront of me. "Well if she does come and try and save you," She empathized 'try' as if the mission was highly impossible for Leah to do, which I know that it isn't. "She'll have to get through me first. And by that, I mean kill me." She shrugged while grinning widely, standing up straight. "It's kill or be killed so...." She flipped her precious hair. "It's for the best if she doesn't show up. She'll just only walk right into her death hours and I would also hate to see the look on Lexi's face when she finds out that her dearest mother is no longer on this earth with us anymore." She put her hand over her heart.
There was a loud knock that was barely heard from down here in the basement, interrupting her and her little threats and grins. Apparently I didn't smack that smile off her face all the way. I wish I did. "Looks like they've arrived. Hang tight." She said as she left once again, leaving me alone on the cold uncomfortable pavement floor.
Once she left, I scanned the basement for any exit to escape. There was none which left me nothing but fear. I have absolutely no idea who's here and what their plan is to do to me or whatsoever. Looking back down at my side, a brilliant idea popped up in my head as I remembered that I was wearing a tank top under this long sleeve flannel shirt.
I took off the shirt and tied a knot on the area where I was stabbed. I knew that when I pulled the two sleeves tight, it was gonna put pressure on the wound and hurt like hell but I needed to stop the bleeding quick and fast. After I tied the knot slowly, I looked up at the table that still had the boxes on them. I was definitely curious to find out if there was any weapons any where up there. And the only way to find out is to get up...
"Dammit." I cursed silently to myself.Even though the floor I was currently laying on was extremely uncomfortable, the position I was in help decrease some of the pain. I knew I had to fight through this and of course that's what Leah would've wanted me to do. Thinking of her made me shake my head and take a deep breath before I somehow managed to get on my knees.
We're making progress, Audrey. Just a few more movements and you'll be done.
Taking a few more deep breaths, I slowly stood up with the bit of strength I had in my arms. I didn't waste any time as I limped over towards the table, praying over and over again for help.
As I reached over towards the table I paused, thinking I heard footsteps coming but it was a false alarm, so I quickly went through the boxes.
"Come on.." I mumbled. They could be coming down any second and I'll get caught if I'm not fast enough. "Aha." I smiled slightly to myself as I picked up a pistol. It looked like the same one back at Leah's house.Staring at the gun a little longer, I checked for bullets and made sure it was loaded and ready to go before I shoved it in the front of my waist. Now that I was armed, I relaxed my shoulders a little and made sure I put everything back to the way it was and went back towards the floor. It was easier to find the spot I was in because there was a blood spot smudged on the floor from me moving around on my side that was injured. I was hungry as hell but I wasn't gonna let that interfere with my plan. Well not my plan but....nevermind.
"She's down here." I heard Mia say as a few footsteps came closer and closer until their figures were visible.
I looked at the unfamiliar person as he bent down to touch my face, making me jump back from the sudden contact. The man looked at me with a smile on his face as he rubbed my cheek before standing up to face Mia.He went towards Mia to whisper something in her ear before turning to leave the basement without a glance back. She nodded her head with a smile as she watched him, making me even more nervous than before. I glanced at Mia as she came over towards me with a bottle of water and something in her hands. "Drink and swallow." She demanded, handing me the pill and the bottle of water.
I shook my head and refused, earning a scoff from her, making her mad again. Apparently, she wasn't up for my bullshit at the moment as she grabbed my face and forced my mouth open to put the pill there. I tried my hardest to spit it out but the way my head was positioned, it was clearly impossible as she opened the water bottle and poured some water down my throat, making me choke but I ended up swallowing it. "Good girl." She patted my head, dropping my head as I laid there, trying to recover my lungs.
It wasn't long before my vision began to go in and out, and my eyes became heavily, making me close them and black out once again......
