"Oh my gosh, Audrey!" Hailey screeched loudly.
"You look absolutely beautiful!" She complimented.I smiled, confidently at her compliment.
"Thank you. So do you!" I returned the compliment as I stared down at her light blue dress while she finished touching up her eyelashes with mascara.
She laughed and thanked me, inviting me with more compliments before I stood up by my desk and fluffed out my hair that was able to be curled by one of the best hair stylist there was, here in this city.
"Is the party still on tonight?" She suddenly asked as I popped both of my diamond earrings in both of my ears. "Yeah, I had to convince my parents to still let me have the party after I told them what we saw on the news yesterday at the diner." I answer her.I trailed my thoughts back to the news announcing that Liam has escaped out of prison and is now on the loose with Mia as a prime suspect. I couldn't help but think what she wanted from him? I know that she confirmed her hidden feelings for him back when she kidnapped me, but that still doesn't explain everything. I mean, is she desperate for him?
It's not like I'm gonna jump and take him back, me and him are long overdue and now that I've seen his true colors and how much he allowed someone like her to take control of his life? Have a nice life, Liam."Yeah, I can't believe Liam's out of prison."
Hailey mumbled, focusing on me through the camera. I sighed heavily, silently shaking my head as I thought of how insane this was.
"If you think of it, just a few months ago we were all just...enjoying our lives peacefully and having the experience of having friends and getting though highschool like any other teenagers. We went to the mall, the movies, a bunch of parties together.
Liam took me on the bestest dates and suprised me with gifts.....told me he loved and cared for me and....um..""Um...yeah." I mumbled, trailing off my sentence while clearing my throat as I thought more deeper into this situation and how fucked up everything was.
"But I don't fully blame him for this." I nodded my head as she listened. "I blame Mia. She's the one that's caused some of this destruction and I—"
I paused, swallowing hard as I pushed back my emotions because I didn't want to ruin my makeup or mood today, and I also didn't want my thoughts getting in the way of me having a decent day."I honestly can't even explain how confused and hurt I am with her. Calling her my childhood bestfriend is no longer in the stands, especially now that I know she's been living under a fake identity....all these years of trusting someone who turned about to be someone else.." Hailey shook her own head in disappointment.
"But anyways, enough about the drama and chaos."
She quickly said to change the subject, thankfully.
I turned around as the door to my room opened and revealed Lexi in one of her dresses.
"Hey, can I borrow some of your jewelry?"
She asked after waving to Hailey, "Yeah, sure here."
I say, opening my jewelry box and handing it to her.
She thanked me and waved again at Hailey before exiting my room."So about this party.....are there gonna be any—"
"Hailey, honey it's time to take pictures!" I heard a voice shout in the background on her end.
She turned around, responded back and then looked at me when she was finish, "Okay, I gotta go, bye."
"Alright, see you at the ceremony." I wave her goodbye for now, letting her hang up FaceTime. The room suddenly got quiet and I sat in my desk in silence, letting the peacefulness linger around my well being for once in awhile.
Well........guys? This is it. This is the final run and guess what, I'm gonna get through it. I'm gonna try and not stress about all the bad things that may or may not take place tonight and fulfill this special day and make memories. I won't allow myself to screw this up or anyone else in that matter. I'm gonna make sure I have a good time with everyone and enjoy the end of this chaotic journey once and for all, once I cross that stage and receive my diploma?
My goal is officially finished and achieved.
