Leah's POV"Ha! Take that!" Lexi chanted with a fist in the air after slamming a draw four card on the dining table, smirking at Taylor who's face changed instantly because she was only down to just one card. Yikes.
"Wow, okay. I'm gonna so get you back." Taylor smiled at her as I watched the both of them playfully trash talk each other. I was out of the game already so I've been able to relax and take in on how much things have been going right for me. Lexi found out about us not too long ago. To my surprise, she wasn't as hostile as Audrey was. She was shocked but, she didn't lash out on me for even being with her.
I thank her for that and not judging me for that decision that I myself wouldn't have thought to make."Looks like you're gonna lose." I mumbled, taking a sip of a drink Taylor brought home. It's really sweet but also very good. Taylor looked at me with a wide smirk and rolled her eyes at me, drawing the four cards. I kept staring at her as she went and decided to slip one of my house shoes off and raise my leg up to touch her left thigh. She immediately shot me a glare, only making me smirk more, realizing that she made a small gasp that was loud enough for Lexi and me hear.
"Got three cards left. Better change the game around or else you're gonna lose.....again." She challenged her, flipping her hair in the process as she looked at me. I gave her a thumbs up, smiling at her as she crossed her arms in confidence. She is such a me.
"Yeah? Well I don't think so." Taylor remarked, throwing down a reverse, a skip...and another skip...and another skip."How did—"
"Uno." Taylor laughed as Lexi's mouth hung open as wide as it possibly could."You know what?" Lexi shook her head as she tossed out a wild card.
"The color is blue.""Oh, thanks." Taylor smiled even more as she slammed the car down that happens to be a blue draw two card.
"Bam! Take that!" Taylor shouted as she stood up, repeating Lexi's words as Lexi sat there unconvinced in completely shock.
"Man, I shouldn't have said blue!" Lexi rose her voice as she rose up quickly, laughing at Taylor as Taylor began dancing funny. I've seen worst."Hang on guys, I'm gonna get my phone from upstairs. Let's play again." I announce as I sat my drink down, scooting the chair back as I turned to walk down the hall and up the stairs to my room.
It's been sort of acting weird lately, I haven't been receiving texts on time, my phone all of a sudden doesn't ring out loud even when someone calls, it stays on vibrate...it's just been doing all kinds of weird stuff. I think it's about time for a new phone actually."Oh, now it wants to work." I chuckled to myself as I flicked my ringer button on and it showed on my screen. I unlocked my phone, sitting on the bed and on time, receiving a text message from Audrey.
I'm glad she decided to go to prom and not skip it. Tonight was a one time thing for her and after it passes, there's no going back and I didn't want her living with that regret for the rest of life on not going to prom....Although I didn't get a chance to go to prom because I had to take care of Lexi. Lauren insisted that I go and just searched for a babysitter at the time when she was three, but I couldn't do that.
I didn't trust my baby being with some stranger I don't know. Even if they were the highest viewed babysitter in the entire world, still. It wasn't happening, and if taking care of my daughter meant missing out on prom?
Then it was that, and I don't regret it at all."Oh, come on." I angrily tapped my phone as it froze on the message app, not even bothering to open it so I could even get a glimpse at what Audrey sent me. "I hate this stupid phone." I mumbled as I kept smacking it, hoping it'll stop acting up and start function properly, but I assume that it's only making it worse.
"Having fun there?" Taylor laughed from the door frame as she came and plopped on the couch.
