"I'd supposed we should have a little chat about a few things while your friends are gone." Mia smirked, pulling out the chair that Nick was sitting in and crossed her arms on the table. I glared at her with as much annoyance as I possibly could without saying anything. What the heck was she doing here?I rolled my eyes at her and got up, not wanting to deal with her and her games tonight.
It was prom, and I wasn't gonna let someone like her ruin that for me.
"I'd sit back down if I were you." She warned behind me as I walked a few steps away from the table.I whipped around,
"And if I were you I wouldn't do a lot of things."She glared at me with a bit of anger and I scoffed at her, turning back around to find Tyler and Nick at the snack table eating meatball sandwiches.
"No wonder you haven't made it back to the table yet." I smiled as they both paused midbite to look at me.
"Sorry, but these meatball sandwiches are banging." Nick managed to muffle over the bites he'd took.
I laughed and looked at Tyler as he finished up his meatball sandwich and grabbed two cups to pour us some punch.
"Want one?" He motioned over to the meatball sandwiches.
I shook my head, "Not right now." I answered, glancing around to see if I see Mia and to my surprise I don't.
"You okay?" He suddenly asked me when I brought my eyes back to him.At first, I was gonna say yes and not tell him about Mia, but the way she was looking at me, I knew she was probably up to something no good and it's better for me to let someone in on it in case she does has something planned for tonight. Speaking of someone, I should text Leah that she's here.
"Come with me." I sighed and put the cup of punch down, slightly tugging his arm and led us to an empty hall with barely music blaring, and enough quietness for us to talk.
"Okay, when you and Nick got up to go get us drinks, Mia ending up showing up..." I told him and his eyebrows rose just a bit.
"Wait—she's here?" He asked a bit too loudly and I tried shushing him.
"Yes. She tried to talk to me and I wasn't up for it so I got up to leave to find you and she told me to sit back down, I said no and walked off." I sighed, closing my eyes for a split second in frustration. Tonight was prom and I was definitely not in the mood to be playing around with Mia and her games. I want this night to be drama free, and not being on guard for danger like a normal teenager."Hey, look at me." Tyler mumbled to me softly as he stepped closer, putting his hands on my shoulders.
I quickly sneak a glance towards his lips before meeting his eyes.
"Don't let her ruin your night, okay? She's only messing with you right now because she knows that she can easily get into your head. Prove her wrong. You're strong, Audrey." He gave me a reassuring smile and I looked around before nodding my head, returning the warming smile."Okay. You're absolutely right." I strengthen my smile even wider as he released his hands from my shoulders..
"Great. Now let's go back to partying, shall we?" He smirked as he gave me his arm to lock into which I gratefully took without no problem. We walked back to the main area where everyone were and decided to look for the group since I'm sure Mr. Price will be on the microphone sometime soon to do those announcements that everyone is waiting for.
Me and Tyler searched around the huge crowd for about five minutes until we finally came upon Hailey and Connor standing in line to take a picture.
"Hey guys!" I smiled widely at the two as they looked up to see us approaching.
"Oh, hey where were you guys?"
"Yeah, we've been looking all over for you two." Hailey added as the line moved forward. I guess we were taking a picture too then.Me and Tyler exchange looks and then back at them, "Mia's here." I blurted out in a low tone to make sure no one heard me.
"What?!" Hailey hissed in slight anger as her expression switched from excitement to disappointment.
"Are you serious?" Connor asked in the same tone but with a bit laid back expression.
