"Okay, everyone settle down so that I could take attendance please!" Our latest math/homeroom teacher, Mrs. Weston yelled sternly as she sat down at the teacher's desk, making the class get quiet immediately. They seemed terrified of her, except for me though. I mean I barely know her and she basically looks like a middle aged woman that probably just gotten recently divorced and is taking it out on her high school students. Or hey, maybe she's just trying to be one of those 'wanna be strict teachers' and its currently working out for her. It was dead silence in the room except the other voice most likely by another teacher from a different room that needs to yell at very unnecessary times.

"Josh?" She called our first on the list, making me turn my head at him as he said here. He was busy typing on his phone and that only made Mrs. Weston roll her eyes and scoff to herself.
"Jasmine?" She called next, but there was no response so she repeated herself.

I rose an eyebrow very slightly as I thought,
If she didn't answer the first time and it's dead silence in the room........what makes you think she's still here in the room?

She scanned the room for a quick second before looking back at the computer.
"Valerie?"
"Here."

"Audrey?" She called my name out and I looked at her before saying here but unfortunately I didn't actually say it, I ended up saying it in my mind. Dammit, Audrey.
"Here." I cleared my throat as people began to stare at me, I wanted to give them the glare I always do when I catch someone staring at me but I decided to not bother and let it happen.

She looked at me a little longer before moving onto the next person, apparently this school doesn't go by last names because they're just that odd and strange, so I knew whose name was exactly next after this one.
"Mia?" She called next, and everyone began whispering because that bitch—excuse my manners, I mean she hasn't been here in weeks. I know they've contacted her parents—or fake parents—or I don't know who the heck she was living with this entire time and I honestly don't give a damn, it's her business. Not mine.

Before she turned towards her computer to mark her absent, the door swung open to a familiar figure coming into the door with a light smirk on her face as she shut the door before walking over to Mrs. Weston's desk. I couldn't actually believe my eyes as my heart began to race faster than ever. What the fuck was she doing here?
"Hi, I'm Mrs. Weston....." She suddenly paused and looked at her screen as I assume Mr. Price just sent her email saying that she'd be 'returning' to school today.
"You must be Mia, correct?" She spoke, trying her hardest not to sound so stern. Mean ass.

"Yes." She answered with a smile, sticking her left hand out to shake hers since her right arm was wrapped in a cast. Oh yeah, I forgot I shot her....

Is it bad that I wanna pound her face in until it gets merged with the concrete or no?

"Okay, well welcome back. Go ahead and take a seat, I was just doing attendance so you're fine. But anymore lates after today will be counted, alright?" She said and Mia shook her head in understanding before looking at everyone.
"Welcome back, Mia." One of the guys in the back shouted, making everyone say the same thing or something similar, making me roll my eyes and scoff as I realize they were happy to see her. If only they knew who she really was behind that thick layer of skin she's wearing.

Anyways, I watched from the corner of my eyes as I stared down at my phone that she looked in my direction before walking towards me. Shit, I forgot we always sat by each other doing homeroom. Well that makes this ten times worse now doesn't it?
"Hey." She smiled as she sat her purse down on her desk, making me look up at her and ignore her comment.
I stared at her for a few more longing seconds before shooting my head back down to avoid talking to her. She only said hey so no one would suspect anything going on.
