First Day Back

I woke up out of my dreamless sleep immediately after I heard four powerful knocks on my door. I groaned knowing that was my mom telling me to get up.

Oops, where are my manners? Hello, I'm Audrey Washington. I'm a 17-year old senior. I live in Oklahoma City, and the current school I go to is Oak Wood Academy. We have a dress code there, which in my opinion is stupid but it is what it is right?

If you're wondering what I look like, well I do have light-brown hair that goes down my back. God, I hate having long hair. I wanna cut it but then I'll look different and I wouldn't want my reputation to drop harder than my grades so long hair stays.

I have dark-green eyes. Apparently people love to get lost in them and all it takes is a snap with your thumb and your middle finger, and they'll fly away.

Fantastic isn't it?

Anyways, I don't feel like explaining what I look like, I mean I know I'm beautiful and all but I need to get dress for the first day back from Winter Break.

I went inside the bathroom down the hall from my room and brushed my teeth and washed my face. I added a little makeup to my face considering the fact that it was the first day back. Why not, right?

As I was walking back to my room after I was done, I saw my older sister coming upstairs so I sighed and sped up towards my room. I absolutely cannot understand her some times.

She always thinks that just because she's older than me, means she can boss my life around all the time. She does it especially when our parents aren't around. They thinks she's the perfect angel, who looks after her younger sister and cares for her.

Uh no. She's the complete opposite. Yeah, we have a couple arguments here and there but she never actually attempted to lay her hands on me. Well in honesty it's best if she didn't. Just saying.

I went inside my closet and grabbed my uniform out. Our uniforms were a white shirt with a blue stupid fancy jacket. The boys wore black pants with a belt. The girls wore a skirt which I'm not gonna even tell you what it looks like because it's retarded.

On the first day of school I told them I wasn't going to wear those stupid skirts anymore and the whole staff team looked at me.

They told me if I didn't wear the proper dress code, they wasn't going to allow me in the school anymore. I didn't listen. I wore black pants to school everyday my junior year and then soon the whole school was doing it. They gave up and changed the dress code.

And until this day it's like that. Some of the girls liked the skirts. Well we all knew what kind of girls they were.

I finished putting my uniform on and grabbed my belongings as I headed downstairs.
"Morning Mom, Morning Dad." I shouted as I went inside the kitchen.
"Morning sweetie, food is on the table." Mom said as she poured herself some orange juice.
"Hey princess." Dad responded as he began pouring syrup on his pancakes.

I smiled as I began digging into the delicious breakfast my parents made.

After a couple minutes, I checked the time and saw that it was almost time for me to leave, but I was no where near done eating.

I quickly got up and grabbed some aluminum foil to wrap around the plate and kissed them goodbye as I made my way towards the door.

"Oh, Audrey! I just remembered, Taylor is taking you to school today." She said.

I double blinked at her.
"What? Is there any problem with your older sister giving you a ride?"

I nodded quickly.
"Don't listen to her Mom, she's just being a little brat like always." Taylor laughed.

I rolled my eyes at her. There's no way in hell am I getting in the car with her. She might kill me and serve me to one of her monster friends.
"Can I just take the bus?" I asked.

Before anyone else got to say anything. The bus I was supposed to ride drove past.
"Looks like you better start running since you wanna ride the bus." Taylor smirked.

I glared at her.
"Fine, can we leave now?"
"Say please."

I glared at her once again. See this is what I'm talking about.

I turned around and began walking out the door.

~~~~~~~~~
I walked inside the doubled doors and immediately saw familiar faces.
First up we got my one and only bestfriend Mia. Cool person. Fun to be around, always there when needed and doesn't have time for anyone's stupidity.
"Hey, how was your break?" I greeted her as I pulled her in for a hug.
"It was great! Nick asked me out on New Years Eve!" She squealed.
I giggled at her and began shaking my head. She's been talking about that guy since we started the school year. It's about time they're together.
"How was yours?" She asked as she began putting things in her locker.
"It was alright I guess, just went over to my grandma's house for a Christmas Party and chilled the last few days."
"No annoying Taylor?" She joked.
"Oh, please don't get me started on that rhino." I scoffed as I took off my coat.
She chuckled and began looking around.
"Boyfriend alert coming this way." She sung.
I turned my head and saw that she was telling the truth. There he was. My boyfriend Liam.
Liam, a.k.a boyfriend. Cute and funny guy. Protective when needed. Smart. Awesome looking. Knows how to calm down anyone he can in a certain situation. He's the sweetest.
"Hey." He smiled as he gave me a quick kiss.
"How was your break?" I smiled.
"Awesome, just hanged with the family."
"Nice, hows your grandmother?"
"She...um...-"
The bell rung, interrupting his sentence signaling us to head to our home room.
"I'll see you in 2nd." I told him as Mia dragged me away.
"Yeah." He waved and began walking the other direction.
I wondered what happened with his grandmother. He seemed sad when he was about to tell me what happened. I'll just ask him later on again.
"Hey, whats on your mind." Mia nudged me as we walked inside the classroom.
"Uh nothing just thinking about the school year."
She chuckled and sat down in her seat next to me.
I glanced around the classroom and saw familiar faces. Most of them were my friends, they hung around me because I was popular and that I was dating the hottest boy in school which is obviously Liam. I don't mind the attention at all. I actually love it.
The late bell rung and our new home room teacher walked in and shut the door behind her.
"Alright seniors, my name is Ms. Tate. I'll be your new home room teacher this year."
"No shit." I mumbled.
The entire classroom burst into laughter and my eyes widened in shock. I didn't mean to say that outloud.
Ms. Tate glared at me with an eyebrow raised. I gulped not wanting to be sent out on the first day especially by a new teacher.
"Sorry." I apologized.
She nodded and continued talking. Mia smiled at me and shook her head. I shrugged and began listening.
She began by introducing herself and talking about how she was excited to be teaching here for the first time. Blah blah blah, all that other boring stuff teachers talk about..
Anyways shortly after, the bell rung again signaling us to go to our 1st class and I remained seated because Math was my first. Ms. Tate did the same thing so I guess she's my math teacher as well.
Great.
