Mia's POVI instantly jump awake from my sudden nightmare, breathing heavily and gasping for air.
I slowly started looking around my room as I tried to calm down my breathing, even though it was a little dark from my lights that hung creatively from the ceiling, all thanks to my mom.
I hated having this stupid nightmare. It's the same thing every time.
Grabbing my phone, I checked the time and it was only 3:25 in the freaking morning.
For the past few days, I haven't really gotten much sleep, and that's because I'm kinda becoming stressed. Really with everything.I'm worried sick about Audrey and whatever she's going through, and she's making it worse by not telling me. I don't care what the situation is, I just wanna know what's going on...is that too much to ask for? Apparently so...
"I knew you were up..." I heard a soft voice say from a distance.
The lights to my room switched on, practically blinding me for a few seconds.
"Jesus, Mom...I need my eyesight..." I say, trying to adjust my eyes as quickly as possible. She chuckled lightly in her usual soft voice and strolled her way towards me.
"What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost..." My mom questioned me, concerned about my sudden appearance.I was currently waist down under my blanket while I was sitting straight up with my legs crossed. I felt extremely sweaty and hot.
"Nothing, I just had another bad nightmare I guess..." I say, shrugging my shoulders a little, not wanting her to worry too much about it.
She looked at me a little longer.
"Are you sure, sweetheart? You look pretty tensed up then usual." She asked me again.I nodded, trying to form a smile.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Hopefully these bad dreams will stop." I say truthfully. She looked at me a little longer before giving in.
"Alright.."She got up and walked towards the door.
I watched as she took a long pause, turning around towards me.
"I know you better than you think I do so.....conversation to be continued.." She rose an eyebrow at me before turning my light off, and exiting my room.I rolled my eyes playfully and laid back down, resting my head on the headboard.
I unlocked my phone and decided to head to Messenger to see if Hailey was active.
It turns out that she was so I sent her a text, planning to hang out this afternoon, so we can catch up right when school ends.
Minutes later, she replied, saying that she was looking forward to it.
I sighed as I closed the app, going on my other social medias. I needed to get my mind off of things, and the only way to do that is to run.
Running helps me clear my mind right away.
It takes away all the stress, letting me focus on a few things at a time.
Making my decision, I got up from my bed to put on some jogging pants and a track jacket.
I didn't bother to put on socks so I just grabbed a pair of my Nike running shoes and made my way downstairs.
I made my way towards the kitchen to grab a granola bar to stop my stomach from growling in the middle of the night.
I left my phone on my bed on purpose so it wouldn't distract me while I was running.
