"Sorry, but apparently there has been multiple complaints about the two of you and as the manager of this store I have no choice but to exclude you from Walmart. Now because you two are very young of age, I'll let you off the hook without getting police involved." The man eyed us as we both nervously nodded while struggling to keep a straight face as we looked at each other and back at the man."And....to make sure this doesn't happen again, I temporarily ban both of you from this particular store for two weeks. You can't shop here until those two weeks are ov-"
"Hey. You can't do th-"I rolled my eyes at Blair, and immediately covered her mouth before she ends up saying something that'll instantly change his mind and thanked the manager.
"Thank you, sir. We do apologize for our mistake and will take full responsibility for our actions, goodbye now." I fake smiled at him as I grabbed Blair's hand as she glared him down like a statue and began heading towards the exit doors where some of the security guards were standing to make sure we did leave. We both silently walked out of the store and remained that way until we reached Blair's car.
"Oh my god, he was big mad." Blair laughed hard as she snorted a few times, making me giggle as we got inside the car.
Blair decided to park far away from everyone else in the parking lot.
I wanted to ask why but apart of me didn't even want to know why she did so I left it at that. I honestly haven't connected with someone like this in a long time that actually felt real. And that was real, if that's the case."Alright, lets start this car and take you home shall we?" She smiled at me as I watched her turn the car on but unfortunately it didn't start, making her look down at her key, turning it again but it didn't budge for the next time.
"The hell?" She whispered to herself as she turned it again and again but the car only made a few noises and went straight to silence, instantly getting her frustrated.
"What the heck is going on here? The car was fine before we left to go in Walmart." She snapped, looking at me as I shrugged, making her get out of the car.She suddenly walked towards the front of her car and lifted the hood, making me unbuckle my seatbelt as I went to the Uber app in case we were gonna need it in a few seconds.
After about a minute of listening to Blair let out curse words, I decided to get out of the car and pitch in a little to see if any of my little knowledge of cars could also help but as soon as I stepped infront of the hood, my mind went blank.
".....yeah, there is...a lot of stuff in here." I mumbled under my breath, earning a chuckle from Blair while shaking her head.I began to shake head as I bit my lip and looked around to find anything out of the ordinary when suddenly I saw a red light flashing down by the left side of the car inside the hood. I squinted my eyes and bent down further to try and see what it was and when it registered through my brain, I read the numbers off the device that was a few seconds away from hitting zero.
Without wasting time, I gasped loudly and grabbed Blair and began running away from the car as she started shouting at me for my sudden actions.
"Mia, what the hell is your-"She was instantly cut off by a loud explosion sound that erupted the whole parking lot. We both flew down to the ground in instinct as we were still a bit close to Blair's car that just exploded into flames.
"No!!" Blair screamed as she got up with me and watched her car burn in fire.My heart was pacing as I realized if I hadn't noticed the flashing lights when I did, we would've been in millions of pieces by now.
Blair was too focused on what happened to also realize that as well. She began running back towards her Ferrari that was increasing in flames.
"Blair, we gotta call the police before it gets bigger." I ran after her."No, for god's sakes you just left from a police station, there's no reason for you to go back, it'll really start looking bad for you and also me." She threw her hands on top of her head as she breathed in and out.
We both suddenly turned our heads as a lot of people began pouring out of the store, trying to figure out the cause of the loud commotion.
"Come on, we gotta get out of here!" Blair said and instantly grabbed my hand. She started taking off when I looked back at the car and then noticed something that caught my eyes, pulling away from her.
"Wait," I glanced at her, making her stop as I ran back to grab a piece of burnt paper that had some words on it and then the both of us began taking off like there's no tomorrow.
We cut through alleyways and a lot of backyards to avoid attention and witnesses that may snitch just to get money. We ended up hiding under a bridge about a mile away from the incident and decided to take a break since we were out of breath and obviously tired from the long run..
"....how...did you know....that...that was gonna happen." Blair panted while bending down with her hands on her knees as I sat down on the ground, closing my eyes.
"I didn't," I breathed. "I saw a flashing red light and then saw numbers ticking down and immediately recognized what it was.........I wanna know who did that." I shook my head in slight anger as I looked at her.
"Same here. When I find out about the fucker that blew my car up, I'm gonna kill them." She remarked, still trying to regain her breathing back.I nodded in agreement as I may want to pitch in on that mission, considering that whoever did this wanted us to die.
"Someone must've been following us ever since I picked you up from the station. That had to be it, right?" She questioned me as I looked around, trying to remain calm like I usually do in any type of situations like this.
"Yeah...that could be a theory." I nodded, digging into my jacket pocket for the burnt, now crumbled paper so that I could read it."I'm gonna go around the corner to have a smoke, I won't be too long. Stay for the lookout and text me if anything goes wrong, okay?" Blair looked at me as she began walking off in the opposite direction.
"Okay, I will." I responded, half smiling as she disappeared seconds later around the corner.I pulled the crumbled paper and hesitated on reading it because I've never seen this paper inside of her car and it looked too fresh to be old so I took it.
When I opened the piece of paper wide enough to make out the words on it, I carefully examined the words.....
"The tables are starting to reverse.....better watch out.."
After I read the sentence, I looked at the crumbled paper for longing seconds and starting shaking my head in anger. I now had an idea of who could have done this and if my calculations are correct?
May Hell break loose....
