There was a knock at my door as I smoothed down my dress for the fifth time in like two minutes. I took a deep breath as I opened the door to reveal a suit clad Luke. "Hi." He said and held a bouquet of flowers out. "These are for you." He said and I smiled at him. "Thank you, I'll go and put these in water real quick and then we can go." I smiled before making my way to the kitchen and finding a vase to put the flowers in. I exited the kitchen soon after and put on my coat before we left my apartment. "So." I said as we were sitting in Luke's car. "So what?" Luke asked and I smiled. "Where are we going?" I asked and he smirked. "It's a surprise." He said and I shook my head. "Come on! I really want to know." I said, sounding like a small child. "And I told you, it's a surprise." He said chuckling. "Fine." I said and we made small talk until we arrived at a small Italian restaurant. I gasped as I recognized which one it was. "I've always wanted to eat here but I've never had the time." I said with a lot of awe in my voice. "Yeah I know." He said. "You told me that once when we were kidnapped and we weren't sure if we were getting out of there alive." He said softly and I nodded in agreement. "Well, come on, then. I'm really hungry." I said before hopping out fo the car.

Me and Merinda had just had the best first date you could ask for. I could see such a bright future for us by just looking at her. God, I love her so much. We had finished dessert almost an hour ago and had just been talking but it was getting late and we both had work in the morning so I called for the check. "I'm paying." I said before she could even open her purse. "What? It's 2018, women can pay as well you know." She said, pretending to be offended. "Yeah, I know but it's our first date and I really wanna pay, you can any other date if you want to." I said and she smiled. "Alright, but I'm paying next time." She smiled and I paid before we left the restaurant. The ride back to her apartment didn't take long and all the laughter we had shared was quickly over. We was standing in front of her door when she looked at me with a soft look. "I really enjoyed tonight." She said and I nodded. "Me too." I said and she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. "Well I guess this is good night then." She said and took out the keys to her apartment from her purse. "Yeah, I guess it is. I'll see you tomorrow." I said and started to walk away. "Luke! Wait." She said and I turned around and before I even realized what it was that was happening her soft lips were on mine and I immediately kissed back. "Good night." She said, panting after we pulled apart. "Good night." I said with a smile on my face as I started to walk away once again, this time with out any other interruptions.
