Home sweet home. I got out of Liam's car. There was nothing but awkward silence between us. I hear him walking out of the car as well. I proceed to enter the house, but he grabs my arm, a little too hard, and spins me around. "We need to talk," he says.
I jerk my hand out of his grasp. "About what?" I question. "Everything is fine."
"You know what?" he says.
I shake my head, remembering last night. "I don't want to talk about it. What was said was said. That's it."
"I'm extremely sorry," he says. "I didn't mean any of it."
I sigh, knowing very well that he was lying. "Liam, I know you. I know you don't like hiding. I wish I can have the courage to confront Simon. I do, but I don't."
"I can tell him," he says. "Or we can tell him."
I shake my head once more. "Liam, I don't think you understand Simon at all."
"I don't think you understand me at all," Liam says, taking a step back. "I, uh, I can't handle it anymore. The waiting. The stubbornness. You push me too much, and I can't take it anymore."
I feel my heart rising. "What do you mean?"
"I'm done," he blurts. "I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore." He turns around, and I shake my head. I thought he understood. I thought he did.
I run up to him and grab a hold of his arm. "Liam, I'm so sorry," I said. "Can we talk about this?"
He shakes his head without a reply. Before I know it, I feel someone's hands push me to the ground, forcing my hands off of Liam. I hear a giggle I thought I would never hear again. I raise my head and see Jade and Jesy hovering over me.
"Jade? Jesy?" I question.
Jade smirks like her old self. "You screwed up this time because you are selfish. That's why we aren't friends anymore remember."
"Stop being selfish for once, Ally," Jesy butts in. "You need to tell Niall straight up to stop messing with you if you really love Liam. You need to tell Liam how you feel. You need to tell Simon the truth. Stop lying for your own sake!"
I feel myself getting push back down, mentally by their words. Suddenly, Jade grabs onto my necklace and rips it off my neck. I gasp and try to swipe it back, but my height was too low. Jade snickers and walks to Liam, who was still observing me in front of his car. Jade hands him the necklace and speaks, "This is such a beautiful necklace."
"You're beautiful," Liam says, smiling at her. I feel my heart shattering as he fixes the necklace around her neck. I shake my head, seeing the joy and love he had in his eyes for me now transfer over to Jade. Tears came out uncontrollably, and I slowly pick myself up. I limp up to them, but Jesy grabs a hold of me, preventing me to go any further.
"Liam..." I said.
Liam glares at me, and I can feel the negativity in his eyes. No love. No joy. Nothing but anger appeared in them. "I'm so sorry," I said. "I didn't mean to be selfish. I just thought it would be the best thing for me. I love you. Please never let that go."
His eyes shift and meet Jade's. Their bodies face one another. Liam brings his delicate hands and holds Jade's chin. His eyes spark as he leans closer, and I am pull back by Jesy. I couldn't help but think what Jade said was true. She was correct. Liam doesn't love me anymore.
Our of nowhere, I hear someone calling out my name softly, "Ally...Ally..."
I open my eyes and see the lamp turned on and Liam sitting on the edge of the bed, still wearing his button up shirt. I let myself breathe in and stand up, remembering what happened. I fix my cardigan and look at Liam. My heart rises, seeing him a little different now.
