Liam's POV

I try to stay put in the car, but I couldn't help but feel defenseless. I couldn't do anything about it. My heart pounded heavily as I waited silently impatient.

Please wait on me, Ally.

My hands tremble, just thinking about everything we've been through. The thought of her face brought me hope that she will wait on me still.

As Zayn pulls the car by a tree, I look at the lake house. A rush of emotions ran through me. Of course. Why didn't I think of this sooner? Ally decided to stay here. I storm out the car as soon as Zayn kills the engine. I run up the rail and onto the porch. I swing the door open and see Dinah, Camila, Lauren, Niall, and Normani gathered around the living room, crying out. None of their eyes raised up to look at me.

"What? What happened?" I ask, shaking. I wet my lips, nervous for the answer.

Niall's eyes lift and meet mine. "Ally, um...she is resting in her bedroom. But I think you should know..." his voice shook and cracked, "...she only has a couple of hours left."

My eyes widen, and I take a step back. "Where is she?" I ask.

"Upstairs," Dinah answers.

Camila adds, "In the room you two shared."

Chills run down my spine as I begin walking pass the living room. I walk up the stairs and open the room, feeling the same feelings I did the first time we were here together. However, my heart drops as I see her drop to the floor. Her knees caught her fall, and her hands try to pull herself but couldn't. "Ally!" I exclaim.

I rush to her side and kneel down beside her. I pull her onto my lap and hold her in my arms. Confusion hits her as she sees my face. "Liam?" her voice was soft and gentle. "Is that really you?"

I nod my head, feeling myself unable to speak. My throat formed a lumped, and I couldn't swallow it down. I open my mouth to breathe and reply, "Y-Yeah."

She shakes her head in disbelief, batting her eyes a couple of times. Her brows crease in fury. "No, it's just you," her eyes glare at me as she pummels my chest, trying to break free from my grasp. Her shaky breaths and grunts gave me aches in my stomach. "You are not him. You just stole his face."

I realize she must think that I am the other guy...the other me. From what Zayn and Louis explain to me on the car ride, she knew what happened to me. I was caught off guard with everything that was happening. I didn't even know about her illness. I didn't know...how could I NOT have known?

She pushes me off of her, and after a moment, I let her win, and I fell back with my hands propped against the floor behind me. Ally collapses on the floor with nothing to hold on to. Her eyelids heavy as she breathes deeply. "Ally..." I mumble. I feel the scratches in my heart cutting deeper. She looked so lost and fragile.

Soon, she was able to pick herself up with the aid of her bed. I stand up and stood near her, being there in case something was to happen. My eyes glance at the uncovered bed and shift my attention back on her. She looks deep in thought, probably telling herself to not give into me, which I wouldn't blame her for. I reply, "Ally, let's get you into bed."

I reach my hand out, but she backs away from me. She raises her hands in fists and looks me in the eyes. "Go. I don't want you here," her voice shook lightly in a low volume. "Get out."

I stood silent and ease myself towards her, but she flinches every time I came close. "Ally, I'm not here to hurt you. I just want you to lay down and rest."
