Liam's POV

I carry the loads of empty boxes into Simon's office. For some reason, he wanted these in his office. I've been trying to get on Simon's good side. So when the time comes, he won't be furious at Ally and me. As much as I love Ally and our little secret hangouts, I don't want to keep living in the shadows. And I was growing strong feelings for Ally. Even stronger than my last girlfriend.

My last girlfriend is back in the UK. She was beautiful, but it bit jealous sometimes. We had broken up because I was going to the US, and before I left, I told her not to wait for me and to live her life. And then came Ally. I know in my heart she won't like how I found another girl, but I didn't promise her anything. We dated. That's it. It was nothing serious. My parents already had other plans for me anyways, but those got delay once I came here.

I set my thoughts aside and enter the office. "Sir, where do you want them?" I ask.

Simon, sitting behind his table, points behind a plant in the room, a couple feet away from the window. "You can place them right there," he says. I set them in their respective spots.

"Is there anything else?" I ask.

Simon tosses his glasses on his desktop and leans against his seat, looking amuse. "Actually, do you have any class next period?"

"No, I'm done for the day, sir," I reply.

Simon nods his head slowly. "Can you go to the store for me? I need to get a couple of items, but I don't have the time."

I nod my head. "Sure," I said.

"Thanks, much appreciated," he says. He opens up a drawer under his desk and pulls out a slip of paper with a few words on it. He hands it to me and says, "Please get all of these items. It's very important that you must."

"Got it, sir," I said. I take the paper and skim it before I exit the office.

I pull out my keys from my pocket and swing it around my finger as I read the list: duct tape, pen (fine point), 0.7mm lead, stapler, plastic bags, bubble wrap, and some mints. For a second, I thought it was a grocery's list.

"Liam?" I lift my head up and see Ally walking up to me, holding onto the straps of her backpack. "Where are you going?"

"I'm running some errands for your dad," I answer.

Her eyebrows crease. "Simon? Why are you running errands for Simon?" She crosses her arms, not looking amuse.

I can sense her upsetting curiosity. "You are okay with that, right?" I ask.

She sighs, "I am, but..." She squirms a little as she shrugs.

"But what?" I question.

She gives me a small smile and shakes her head. "Nothing," she hesitates.

"You sure?" I raise an eyebrow. She nods her head. She looked uncomfortable. I take a step forward, raising my hands to cup her cheeks, but before I got the chance, she takes a step back, raising her eyes behind me. I drop my hands, remembering our setting. "Right. I'm sorry," I said.

Ally nods her head. She presses her lips together and speaks, "I'll see you later."

"See you," I reply.

We part in different directions, and I exit the building. I walk down the parking lot. My eyes rise to see Jade and Jesy by their red vehicle. They were in a conversation as they stood by it. I turn my head, ignoring their presence and hoping they didn't catch mine.

"Liam,"

I think I just jinx myself.

I stop in my tracks and turn to them, casually. Jade waves her hand a little at me, and surprisingly, it wasn't in a flirtatious way. The two of them walk up to me. "Hi, sexy," Jesy winks.
