I laid in my bed. I was tired. Tired everything. It was like everything that happen in the past couple of days was a dream - a beautiful paradise - and this was my reality.
My mind was too occupied with too many things that I was worrying about. Niall. The necklace. Liam.
Bzzz. Bzzz.
I jump a little, hearing my phone vibrate on my nightstand. I pick it up and see a text message from Liam. I swipe it, and my screen unlocks. I read: Come out. I need to talk.
I uncover the sheets and slip my phone into my pocket. I walk into the closet and grab a comfortable cardigan. Once I put it on, I exit my room and then, eventually, the house. The night was here, and I carefully walk along the sidewalk. My eyes try to search for Liam, but it was too dark.
I dig into my pocket and pull out my phone. Before I can turn on the flashlight, I hear someone walking behind me. I turn around and flash the light in the person's eyes. I hear Liam groan, and I lower the flashlight, eventually turning it off.
I see Liam, in his white t-shirt and gray sweats, rubbing his eyes, and I bit my lower lip, guilty. "I'm sorry, Liam. I thought it might have been someone else."
"No, no," He rebuttals and blinks a couple of times, trying to regain his vision. "If I was you, I would have done worse."
After he partially regains his sight, he looks at me and smiles. I return the smile, asking, "What did you want to talk about?"
"We'll discuss that, but first, let's get out of the streets," he says. "Our neighbors might see us and have their own ideas." I nod my head, and he points to his backyard, where he showed me fireflies for the first time.
"I need you to close your eyes," he says. "And listen to my voice once more." I close my eyes and open my ears obediently. I follow the sound of his soothing voice. The directions were highly the same as they were the first time.
I stood quietly on the cut grass and waited for the next direction. There was a silence, "Liam?" I question.
"Wait, sweetheart, I just have to do something first," he says, a couple feet ahead of me. Before I knew it, a soft, jazz music plays. The slow beat gave me chills and curiosity.
"You may open your eyes now," he whispers in my ears, unexpectedly. My nerves twitch, and I open my eyes. My eyes travel around the backyard. There were lights hanging around some of the yard, and a stereo on an old bench. There a small speaker where the music came from. This was just like yesterday. A beautiful sight to my eyes. I turn around and see Liam, an even more beautiful sight, holding out his right hand.
"May I have this dance?" He asks.
"Yes," I said, giving him my left hand.
We move closer to the music and face one another. Liam's right hand and my left hand intertwine, and we raise them halfway while Liam sets his free hand on my waist, and I set my other hand on his shoulder. Our bodies sway in sync, moving in circles slowly. Our eyes connect with one another, not breaking for a moment. "Many people don't find it very often," he says. "But I am lucky enough to love you, Ally."
"You're sweet," I blush, trying to hold onto my emotions. "I love what you do to me. With you, it's the most loved I ever felt. And I just really want to take the time and appreciate God for giving me you. I seriously don't know why I have someone good like you."
"When are you going to stop being so harsh on yourself?" He says. "You're more than what you give yourself credit for." I give him a grin.
He spins me around slowly before pulling me close. Our bodies collide, and I toss my arms around him. I can feel the slightest bit of his nose against mine. My breathing became unsteady, listening to his heart beat. He grasps my butt and lifts me into his waist. My legs wrap around his waist while my hands cup his cheek.
"I wish we could have moments like these more," I said, tracing his lips.
"So do I," He replies. "But the future can be however we want it to be. Moments like these can be a lifetime. And having you beside me is all that I need in this lifetime."
I blink a couple of times, not knowing what to say. I unwrap my legs around his waist as he sets me down on the grass. Suddenly, an idea forms in my head as we continue to sway. "Do you think Simon will accept you?" I ask.
"I think he's capable of accepting me, but I don't think he will like me," he says.
"I was thinking..." I begin, nervous of how he'll take it. "After you return from the funeral, you and I can tell him about us, and whether he likes it or not, I won't deal with it anymore. I don't want him to control my life anymore."
"What do you mean?" his brows crease.
I drew circles on his skin and said, "How do you feel if I move out and live with you?"
He shakes his head. "No, Ally. I won't let you do that. Simon means a lot to you. You love him, and you said it yourself, he raised you, fed you, and sheltered you. You can't just leave him without his consent."
"I can for us," I said. "I'm doing it for us because I have full faith that you are my everlasting love, no matter what anybody says."
"You sure this is what you want?" He asks.
"More than a hundred percent," I said, and he smiles.
"Good because I was thinking about buying that lake house," he says. "Just for the two of us."
"Really?"
"But that's only if you're truly up for it," he says.
"Of course I am," I said.
"But are you one hundred percent sure you're ready to give all of this up? We still have two more semesters."
"It's okay," I assure. "I can always get student loans, and yes, I can give this up. I'll admit. It seems a little hard, but as long as we got each other, nothing can drag us down, right?"
"Right," he says. "I will go and get the money my grandmother saved for me as a start." I nod along. "But reassure me one more time. I don't want this to be false dream." He smiles hopefully.
"It's nothing fake to me," I said. His eyes glow with excitement. He seems to be more free and uplifting. This restriction was about to end, and I was glad.
Liam sweeps me off my feet slowly and leans for a kiss. As soon as our lips touch, old sparks reappear along with the newer ones. Electricity, it feels like. His hands slide behind my back and traces my bra strap. Flashes of last night appear in my mind.
He leaves my lips, letting me breathe the air, and kisses my neck. He stops at one place and begins to suck on it. "Liam," I laugh as his lips tickled me. "We're in public," I reminded him. He moans and groans simultaneously as he struggles to release his lips.
He lifts his lips a little and points out, "We're not in public as much, considering it is nightfall, and let us enjoy what we can before I leave tomorrow."
"Alright," I said. "You're leaving at twelve, right?"
"One," he answers. "Our flight got change. The plane leaves at 1:30. Louis and Zayn are coming along to help me."
"So Camila and Lauren are going to be waiting on them as well," I said. "Well, I'm not sure about Lauren, but I know Camila and Zayn are getting serious."
"Definitely," he says. "Now, enough about them. Let's continue dancing."
We lock our hands and get in position once more. We let the jazz music fill our ears and mind for the next couple of minutes. None of us made a sound. Our eyes, like before, never broke. We smile at one another. Our hearts dance the night away until it was time for us to head back to our house.
