I remove the apron off of me and toss it on the counter. I take in the nice warm scent of the noodle soup in the saucepan. I turn my head over to the pot on the stove and turn off the heat. I move the pot of noodle soup I made on another part of the stove.

I grab the ladle and two bowls out of the cupboard and scoop a full amount of noodle soup for Ally and me. I rush the hot bowls to the table where Ally rested, cuddling in blanket. I can hear her breathe in deeply. I spin around to the silverware drawer and flinch a little, seeing the spoons set next to the fork. I pick up a spoon for Ally and reach for a fork for myself until something made me choose the spoon.

I walk back to the table and take notice of the clock in the living room. It was 7:34. The sun was setting. I sit on the adjacent side of Ally, so I can be close to aid her.

Her eyes crease as she looks at the spoon I had in my hand. "You're eating soup with a spoon?" she slowly questions as she tries to raise an eyebrow.

I nod my head, "Yes, I know. But something made me choose it. Maybe all spoons aren't dirty. Even if they are, I know yours is not."

She smiles and reaches her hand out. Her hand trembles you pick up the spoon I set in her bowl. Then, it got shaky. I grab her hand, and she looks at me. I set my spoon down and offer, "Let me feed you."

She shakes her head. "No, I got it," she says. "I can handle my own spoon."

"I'm just scared you might burn yourself," I say. I place my hand over hers and say, "Let me do it."

She nods her head and lets me remove her spoon from her grasp. I take a spoonful and blow the heat away. I set my free hand a few inches under, so nothing could spill on her. Her eyes gaze on me as she takes the spoonful and chews the noodles. I set the spoon down in her bowl.

I return to my bowl and grab a spoonful of liquid. I begin to blow on the heat until Ally asks, "Where is everyone?"

I dart my eyes on her. "They are, uh...they went to go get some fresh air," I answer.

She nods her head. "Oh," she says, "why didn't you go with them?"

"I don't need to," I answer, "I want to be here with you. I have spent a long time away from you that I didn't want to lose anymore." I turn to the spoon and feed myself. The hot liquid I felt burned my mouth, and I couldn't bear to swallow. I cough out, spitting the liquid onto my bowl but I somewhat missed and got some on the table. Ally gasps and wheezes lightly.

"Aww," she coos. "Are you okay?"

I clear my throat and cough out to get the burning taste out of my mouth. "Y-yeah," I reply. I shift my eyes on her and see her struggling to release a laugh out.

I smile myself, which ultimately led me to envision what she just witnessed. I must've looked like an idiot. I chuckle lightly, and that transformed into a fluent chuckle. Ally joins me as she rests one of her hand on my arm. She caresses my arm softly, cooing in between her chuckles. "Aw, sweetie, are you okay?" she questions.

I nod my head. "Yes, yes I am," I reply. "Stupid me. I should have notice the heat coming off it."

"It's okay," she says. "At least you're okay, right?"

I nod my head once more. "I think I need a drink," I said.

"There should be water bottles in the fridge. Here, I'll go fetch you one," she volunteers, but I place my hand over hers on the table.

"No, I got it," I said. "You're sick right now, and if you do anymore, you might faint."

"Liam," she takes a breath, "I'll be fine. The refrigerator is only a few feet away." I went against my gut-feeling and allow her to retrieve it.
