Fate is such a cruel thing. Literally, they knew Niall dared me to ask the first guy who walked through the door, and then, Liam comes in without even a form of notice. Seriously, who does he think he is? And why is he here? What is he doing here? I have so many questions in my mind that it's messing with me already.
I scratch the back of my head and adjust my spot on the step.
"Ally," I hear Camila's voice. I lift my head and see her standing beside me. She sinks down and takes a spot next to me. "It's true. They're back," she says, answering one of my questions. "Lauren is avoiding Louis."
"I wouldn't blame her," I said. "I guess, I know how she kind of feels now. So Louis and Liam are really back?"
"Yeah unlike that jackass Zayn," Camila says. "I mean, he could at least tell me why. That's all I want to know."
My heart pounded in chest vibrantly. "Mila, I just have to ask you this," I said. She nods her head, and I continue, "If something were to happen to Zayn, and you didn't know about it, what would you do?"
Camila raises an eyebrow, looking uncertain at my question. I elaborate, "If you found out something caused him to not be here and with you, would you forgive him even through the heartache and the pain he caused you?"
Camila raises her head a little and pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose. She sighs and removes my hair off my shoulder. "Ally, are you asking me what you should do about Liam? Listen, if you don't know what to do about him, I can give you my answer, but—"
"No, no," I crease my brows. "Mila, I am asking you. Will forgive Zayn for abandoning you if you found out it wasn't his fault that he never came back?"
"Why wouldn't it not be his fault?" Camila asks. "He has the choice to come back."
"But let's say that he didn't, and he had to remain where he was, would you forgive him?" I clarify.
Camila still held the confusion on her face. "Ally, I think your losing it. Did you take your pills? The doctor said that you should take one in the day and one at the night."
"Yes, I did take them," I said. "Camila, there is a reason why Zayn couldn't be here."
"And that is what? Is he dead or what? Is that the reason why because it better be or else—"
"Mila, you should never say that," I cut in. "Zayn loved you very much."
"If he loved me, he would've came back. Just like how you came to Liam or how Liam came to you," she points out, but I shake my head.
I rebuttal, "No, that was just a coincidence and a brief relationship we had up there. Now, Liam is here for another reason. Maybe to get his belongings from Sonia."
"Ally, why don't you just admit it? You don't even need to talk to Liam to know why he is here. You can just know that he is here, and the literal fact that he is here answers all your worries," Camila explains. "I am happy with Shawn, so unless Zayn has a good reason why he isn't here, I suggest you shouldn't tell me."
If only she really knew...
I knew Shawn and her are happy, but she doesn't seem to be that open to him like she was with Zayn. Zayn brought a different side of her. The passionate and free Camila. Not the Camila who hides behind her glasses. But Shawn makes her happy at the moment, and as long as she stays happy, I guess that will be enough.
I cave into her words and nod my head. "Okay," I reply.
A smell of sweet and savory flew through my nose, and I release a small moan. "Oh, gee," I begin. "I think Mani is serving dinner now."
