Ally's POV

"Come on, girls," Lauren orders. "Simon and the others are coming in less than an hour, and we still have a lot more to do." She looks at the clipboard in her hands.

Dinah sets her hands on her waist, sighing heavily. She just got done sweeping the floor while the rest of us are sitting in the living room, listening to Lauren's announcement.

"We've already done enough," Dinah pouts.

"Yeah," Camila adds. "What more do we need to do?"

Lauren rolls her eyes and looks down at her list. "We still got the bathroom, specifically the toilets you girls skipped. Mopping the floor. Cleaning the stove. And don't get me started on the fact that we do not have a lawn mower."

"Why can't you do some of the chores?" Sofia questions.

"Because I'm supervising," Lauren answers. "So I can catch any of your mistakes. Now, Ally, you get to water the plants outside."

"What plants?" Camila questions.

"The ones Dad has in the backyard," Lauren replies like it was the easiest answer. She shifts her eyes back down on her clipboard. "So, where was I?" she asks, skimming the clipboard. "Oh yes. Sofia, clean the stove and mop the floor. And Camila and Dinah, you two split on toilet cleaning."

Camila and Dinah gag at the same time. Camila whines, "But, why me?"

"Yeah," Dinah says. "Why can't you supervise yourself cleaning the toilets?"

"We have four toilets in this house. One downstairs. One in Simon's room. One in Ally's. The last is upstairs. Quit complaining."

I add, "Don't worry about mine. I already cleaned it."

"Great. One less toilet to clean," Lauren says with a smug look.

Dinah rolls her eyes. We all diverge into our jobs. I exit the house and grab the watering can from one of the steps outside. I pick it up and bring it inside. I place it in the sink and turn on the faucet. I let the water fill up the watering can until it was almost full. I turn off the water and lift the handle. I groan and grunt as I feel the the watering can heavier than before.

I use my energy and carry the can out the door. I made a turn to the house and pass the windows. Once I arrive to the small garden, I lift the can and sprinkle water onto the plants. I finish the first row of three and set the watering can down. I stretch my wrist from the weight of the water.

"Hey," a charming voice greets.

I lift my head and see Liam's head sticking out of his window. A smile formed on his face as he waves his hand at me while his other hand held the rim of the window.

"Hello, stranger," I raise my voice.

"Need any help?" Liam asks.

I shake my head. "No, I'm fine. I'm just watering the plants before Simon, Niall, and Normani arrive."

"When are they coming?"

"In a couple of minutes," I answer. "Everyone are just doing a couple of last minute household chores before they come."

"Gotcha," he says, giving me a thumbs up. "If you need any help, I'll be here."

"Thanks, but I got it," I said. He nods his head and sneaks his head back in.

I turn to the can, and after a couple of seconds, I pick can up. I ran the water down the second row and onto the third.

I walk inside, setting the watering can by the door. My feet meets the wet floor Sofia was mopping. I carefully watch my steps and hopefully didn't get any dirt on the floor. I enter the kitchen and spot Sofia mopping behind the table.
