Ally's POV
Don't you sometimes wish life could be different?
Yes, sometimes. Life has its ups and downs. In the end, we all are going to go to the same place, whether it's heaven or hell. I, for one, wonder what it's like sometimes in both realms. I have all these questions that aren't answer, but in time, they will. It actually depends on where I go. Possibly, I will see my family there.
I am an orphan, just like Camila, Dinah, Lauren, Sofia, and Normani. All six of us have different backstories, but all of us were adopted by Simon Cowell, who owns the university we all attend. My brother, Brandon, never visit since the incident ten years ago.
My mom died because of an illness while my dad followed her by drinking too much alcohol. Everyone abandoned me, and I was all alone until Simon claimed me. He raised me as a daughter and does everything like a parent should do. He fed us. Punished us. Loves us. We can never repay what he did.
"Ally, are we done?" Niall complained. Niall is one of my best friends and Simon's nephew. He stayed in the same household as us. He goes to the same university as well. We've known each other for two years now. I love him so much, and he does a lot of things for me.
"Just wait, Niall," I said. "We're almost done. All that's left is the frosting on the cake. You want to help me out?"
Niall sighs and smiles, "Yes. As long as I'm with you, I want to do it."
"Then do it," I sass him with a chuckle.
I take the two-layer cake out of the refrigerator and set it down on the counter. On the sides were piping bags of whipped cream. I demonstrate to him on how to squeeze the bag on the cake and how to straighten it afterwards. We combine our skills, and soon enough, we were covering the cake. I start to decorate the side of the cake.
Niall observes me, smiling. "Ally, why don't you go into baking? It suits you more."
"Are you saying I'm not going to be a good actress?" I question jokingly.
Niall shakes his head, his cheeks burning red. "No, you are a good actress. Technically, you are good at everything you do. You're so sweet and innocent. It's just incredibly unbelievable that there's people like you around."
I blush. "Niall, you're too sweet and exaggerative. I'm just a regular human." I set the bag down, finished decorating the cake.
"All I'm saying is that the right guy might show up in front of you anytime soon," Niall says, and I shrug.
"I'm not sure about dating yet, but I'm very open about it to any guy who has a nice personality," I said.
He holds a wooden spoon and raise it in front of his lips like a microphone. "Well, what is your ideal type of guy?" he asks.
"Niall," I cocked my head at him. Sometimes, he can be a little bit nosy, but I still trust him.
Niall pouted like a little puppy. He always does this when he wants something desperately.
It took a minute or two, but I finally caved in. "Alright," I sigh, thinking. "Let's see... I like a guy who is faithful and committed. Someone I can trust and doesn't abandon me. He has to be genuine. And has to have a good heart. But most importantly, his love for me will never fade away, even if he violated some of the other requirements."
"Woah, that's a lot of expectations," Niall said.
I nod my head, staring off to the empty space and thinking about my right guy while responding, "Yes, I know. And I know there's over a billion of guys out there in the world, but I know I will meet him one day because it's fate. I know it is."
