I sit up in bed, grabbing my phone. I turn on the screen, and for a moment, the brightness blinded me. My eyes soon adjust, and I look at the time: 8:10. I uncover the sheets and place my feet on the floor.

After a moment of quietness, I lift myself up and walk into the bathroom. I search for my toothbrush in the bathroom and grab the toothpaste. I brush my teeth shortly after and then brush my hair.

I change out of my pajamas and into a teal blouse and black shorts. I walk to my nightstand and unplug the charger from my phone. As I turn around, my eyes immediately meet Liam's through the window. His shifts down as he begins to write something on the table. In a few seconds, he holds out a piece of paper with the words "Can we talk?" on it.

I sigh and pull out a clean sheet of line paper. I pick up a sharpie and write out "IDK." I hold against the glass so he could read it.

Once he comprehends my message, he writes another response. He holds the sheet out and read it: Please.

I look at the time on my phone: 8:35. I scribble out the words "Have to go." I let him read it.

He nods his head, and I shrug. I toss the paper in my bag and place my backpack on my shoulders. I walk out of my room and trot down the stairs. I enter the kitchen and see Simon, Sofia, and Camila sitting down on the table.

"Morning, Allyson," Simon said, not taking his eyes off of the newspaper.

"Morning Ally," Camila and Sofia greet in unison.

"Morning guys," I reply.

"Ally, I will be ready," Camila said. "Just give me a minute." She stands up from her seat and dumps her plate into the sink. As she puts on her jacket, Simon looks at me and says, "Ally, may I have a word with you?"

"Yes?" I ask, sitting down on a chair at the table.

"I am informed that Niall has joined soccer," Simon begins. "I understand that Normani and you want to support him, but you both have been gone daily. Aside from school, I want you guys to focus on the household duties. We all share the work. I don't want Camila or Dinah to overwork and miss their chances of exceeding because you and Normani are out there. I'm not saying it's bad, but it worries me about all of you girls."

I nod my head. "I get it," I respond. "I don't think I will staying after today anyway."

"Thank you for understanding," Simon said. "Is Normani up yet?"

I shrug. "I don't know. I thought she left with Niall this morning."

"I didn't see her come out," Simon said.

"She probably went with Lauren and Dinah," I said.

"Okay, I'm ready," Camila speaks up. Simon and I stand up, and he gives us a hug.

Camila and I wave goodbye to Sofia and walk out to the car. We set our backpacks in the back and hop in the front, with me behind the wheels.

As I turn on the engine, Camila asks, "So are you going to answer me why you wanted to come home early yesterday?"

"Nothing," I answer. "Nothing happened, okay?"

Camila meets my eyes and reads them carefully. I shake my head, closing my eyes. "Come on, come on. We have to get to school," I said.

I shift the gear into reverse and backed out of the driveway. I enter the street and drive until we got there. I park in the school's parking lot. Once Camila and I grab our stuff, I lock the car, and we enter the building. I head to my first period immediately. I didn't want to get there and have the other students fill up the seats while I sit next to Liam, Jade, or Jesy.
