Chapter 7

You left the village with Itachi. You two remained silent while  walking the path leading to the forest near the mountain. The sun was about to rise soon and the birds were chirping loud.
After few hours of walking and taking short breaks, you have finally arrived to your destination, a beautiful green meadow shaded by big trees where different herbs and flowers grow along with some mushrooms in the shady places here and there.

"We arrived", you said with a smile, putting your things down near a tree and taking the basket you usually use to keep your herbs in after picking them, Itachi was standing beside you examing his surroundings.
"We better start now, walking back to the village will take long too", you said, standing up and holding two small containers and two small pair of scissors.
"Alright...but I don't know what herb do you want exactly", he said as you handed him a container and a pair of scissors.
"I know, I will show you, come with me", you replied with some excitement in your voice. You walked ahead of him to the centre of the meadow as he followed, he was watching your hair swaying behind your back as your beautiful kimono fit you perfectly, he found himself feeling relaxed, it's been long since it had felt this peaceful near someone.

You bent down and looked carefully at the field of grass, not long after, you smiled as you spotted what you were looking for, you took your scissors and cut the herb off.
"Can you get closer for a while?", you said, looking at the green herb between your fingers. Itachi did as you asked and bent down beside you.

"This is what we are looking for. Pay attention to the shape of the leaves as well as the pale green color", you said holding the herb in front it him to see it closely.
"I see", he muttered, looking at it attentively. His face was close, it gave you a good opportunity to look at his face and his eyes, you liked his dark eyes and their beautiful long lashes, his perfectly shaped eyebrows, his pointy nose, his nicely shaped lips, his silky hair which the breeze played with gently...

You haven't notice it, your eyes were still roaming his face as he stopped looking at the herb, instead he watched your curious eyes with a little smirk.
"So?", he said in gentle way, bringing you back to your senses. Your face heated up as you backed away from him, feeling extremely embarrassed at the way you kept staring closely at him, why did you do that?
"I-I'm sorry! Let's start searching! And keep that herb with you to help you", you said in a nervous voice, as you took your scissors and container and moved to another spot quickly with your back facing him. He blinked a few times, a small smile replaced that smirk on his face, as he then took the herb you have given him and started to look for more like it silently, giving you some side looks from time to time.

'That was so stupid of me!', you thought to yourself as you kept collecting those small herbs. That's the first time something like this happens to you with a patient...but the truth, he is pretty handsome.
You sighed as you gave him a quick side look, just to see him busy trying to find more herbs, good, he didn't think you're weird or something.

It was past noon, after some hesitation you walked toward Itachi, hopefully nothing else happens his time.
"I'm done, how about you?", hearing your voice, he stood up too and held the container for you to see.

"Is this enough?", he asked.
"Yes, this is very good", you said, taking the container from him and looking at it. He collected a fine amount of the herbs you need, but you've noticed he had mixed some few other herbs with them, didn't he pay attention or he just couldn't distinguish between them?

"Thank you Mr...Itachi", you decided not to ask why he did that for now, it wasn't important at the moment. You put the contents of the containers in your basket together while he just watched you.

"Let's eat something before we head back, I'm hungry", you said with a smile, he didn't plan to eat here and so he didn't get any lunch with him.
"You eat if you want. We will leave when you're done", he said calmly as he started to walk toward a tree then sat under its shade.

You didn't say much, you walked to the spot where you first put your things and got the lunch you prepared out of your bag. There were two lunch boxes with onigiri and cooked rice, some salad and two boiled eggs in each of them, and a one bag of dango to share.
"Hey", Itachi looked up to see you standing beside him, holding the things in your arms, with that little smile still on your face.
"It was my mistake that I didn't inform you yesterday that we are gonna take long...so I have got lunch for the both of us", you said, already sitting beside him on the grass and putting one lunch box in front of him with chopsticks on top of it, while you kept the other one and put the dango in the middle between the two of you.

He just looked at you for a while, why? Is this also part of the medical care he gets?
"You didn't have to", he said calmly, still not touching the food.
"Lady Noriko wouldn't be happy if she finds out I didn't do this", you said, still that smile on your face.
That gentle old lady...
"Come on, let's eat!", you said opening your box and taking a bite from it. He looked at the dango, and that's when he knew he can't say no, and more, the sound his stomach made, made it even obvious that he needed to eat.
You pretended you hadn't hear it and continued to eat, stealing looks at his slightly blushing cheeks, as he finally started eating too.

"Can I ask you something?", he said calmly.
"Yes sure", you nodded.
"What's your full name?"
"[name] [last name]", you answered.
He remained silent, [last name]?
"How about you?", you asked.
"Itachi Uchiha", he replied without hesitation.
"Uchiha?", you repeated to yourself, this is not familiar to you...yet.
"Have you heard of it before?", your reaction caught his attention, he needs to know the nature of your relationship with the Uchihas, he needs to know the secret behind that bracelet...
"No, not really", you shook your head no, it was clear you were saying the truth.
'She is totally clueless about it...', he thought then he resumed eating.

After finishing your lunch and making sure you've cleaned the spot you were sitting in, you two decided to head back to your village.
