"I'm pregnant..."

He remained silent once you said this, that's not the first time for you but to him...it was all new. He came back when Tatsu was already a toddler, he wasn't there when you found out about the pregnancy, the checking, the cravings, his birth, his teething, first steps, his first words...
His eyes just roamed your face seeing the little smile on your lips as you felt a bit confused, why doesn't he say anything? Didn't he like it? Should you have planned it before with him?!

"I know I told you I'm on birth control, but I stopped it a while ago, I wanted to make it a surprise for you an-"
You started explaining, when you have been suddenly pulled into a stong and tight hug by Itachi, ke kissed and hugged so dearly interrupting you...
"I don't know what to say..it is...", he muttered as he pulled back, looking in your eyes, still too close, gently caressing your face. He was feeling a lot of things at the same time, to experience such a feeling, to gain instead of lose, to have a new family member, from his own flesh and blood instead of losing another one, to wriness the moment when he's told he will be a father...

"I'm happy...very happy now [name]...I really...love this and...", he trailed off as you giggled a little and nodded, he seemed to be having a hard time finding the right words, he then pulled you into another deep hug, resting his chin on your shoulder while gripping right on your clothes, hopefully it is not a dream...all this beauty is not a dream.

Your eyes widened when you felt something wet on your shoulder, is he...crying?! You gently pulled back from the hug and cupped his face in your hands. He was also surprised as tears run down freely on his cheeks, he didn't even seem to notice them, all he was doing is to look in your eyes with parted lips.
"Itachi, we will pass together through this...everything you have missed with Tatsu you will catch up to this time...", you said with a giggle wiping his tears away with your fingers, feeling some tears as well fornimg in your eyes too.
"Of course! I will be here always and...and I really am excited my love, I just didn't realize how it actually feels until now...I guess I will always owe Tatsu an apology for being absent during the first times of his life...", Itachi said, as his eyes looked down then he placed his hand on your lower belly sensing it, "it is here...", he muttered as you smiled at him and nodded, placing your hand above his.

"[Name] m'love, how old it is?! Is it a boy or a girl?!", Itachi asked you excitedly with a big smile as you smiled back at him and said:"it is about three weeks old only, I still can't find out the gender now, I will go after a few weeks do a checking in the hospital and then we we be able to find out whether it is a boy or a girl, you will come with me, right Itachi?", "yes! of course!", he said with a nod as you sighed happily, being pregnant was never easy on you, especially when Itachi wasn't here and you had those bad cravings for him, but this time it is different, he will be here with you to support you and be by your side.

It was morning, the three of you were in the kitchen having breakfast and getting ready to leave. You can see that pleased look still very clear on Itachi's face as he filled Tatsu's cup with milk, you haven't tell the little boy the news yet, you were wondering what will be his reaction.
You took a sip from your cup of green tea watching those two as they talked about what Tatsu learned the last time he trained with his father, you enjoy their talks, especially when Tatsu keeps asking questions never feeling bored, he likes to learn a lot, you also plan to teach him everything you know about medical ninjutsu and medical care.
It was suddenly when you have been overwhelmed with a feeling of nausea, you put your cup down and left the kitchen immediately to the bathroom to throw up, leaving the two behind surprised at what happened suddenly to you, it wasn't long when Itachi realized what's going on.

"Don't worry, Tatsu, eat your breakfast and I will go check on mom", Itachi said gently patting Tatsu's head reassuringly, then quickly leaving after you, noticing that the bathroom's door was open. He pushed the door and entered, seeing you emptying your stomach contents, you seem to have a bad morning sickness.

He grabbed your hair and pulled it back out of the way not to get dirtied, as he supported you with his arm. He felt bad for you, having a baby on the way is something beautiful, yet the sickness, the mood swings, the carvings can make it a very challenging thing, still, having someone by your side, a lovely husband and lover can ease things more.

You have finally finshed throwing up, feeling tired and weak as you leaned on the sink, still being held by Itachi who was gently washing your face with water.

"How do you feel now?", you looked up at him to see him looking at you with a worried look on his face, you must have surprised him and Tatsu, but you can't do anything about it, it was something beyond your own will.
"I'm fine, that's something normal to happen now, don't worry yourself", you said smiling slightly at him and gently standing up straight, you know he can't help it when he sees you in pain.
"Just stay at home today and rest well, you seem tired, and try to eat when you feel better", he said as he pulled you to his chest, you let out a sigh and closed your eyes, his scent...so relieving and calming, it seems you will have those intense needs for him again, thankfully he is here anytime you need him...
"I will take care of myself, don't worry", you replied as you pulled back, he sighed noticing the pale color that spread on your face, he kissed your forehead as you two then exited the bathroom together, just to find Tatsu standing right at the door waiting with a worried expression his face, you have to explain to him, and tell him what's going on.

"Mom! are you sick?!", Tatsu asked you worriedly.

"No, not really sick...listen sweetheart, I'm actually pregnant, soon you will have a little sibling", you said as you bent down to his level and gently patted his head, seeing the surprise on his face, yet, he didn't say anything.
"Are you happy about this, Tatsu?", Itachi asked noticing that Tatsu remained silent.
"Yes, but...", the little boy trailed off as he looked at you, still worry clear on his face.

"But what sweetheart? Tell me", you asked him gently caressing his face, maybe he thinks the coming child will take his place, something that would never happen.
"Mom? Is it what's making you sick?", he asked looking at your eyes then at Itachi, looking for an answer, no he isn't worried about hisself, he is worried about you, he had always seen you cure people and help them, but he didn't see you sick before.
"No sweetheart, I told you I'm not sick, I just didn't like that tea", you said with a smile, standing up and taking his hand in yours heading back to the kitchen since he still needs to finish his food.

"What do you expect it to be? A boy or s girl?", you asked, trying to make him forget about the sickness while Itachi waited for his answer.
"Um...I want a brother...and a sister too!", Tatsu said after a while of thinking, letting out a little cute giggle as he then finished eating his bread.

"I guess we can only have one at a time, yet in other rare cases we can have both, but still, that's pretty rare to happen", Itachi said with a chuckle, getting up and starting to get ready to leave.

"Your dad is right Tatsu. Now, it's time to head to school!", you said standing up as well, as Tatsu nodded and started getting ready to leave.

"Alright, we will go now and you go have rest", Itachi said, standing at the door with you and Tatsu who was playing with his cat.

"Yes, um...Itachi...please don't be late", you said as he could sense some need in your tone, your first experience with pregnancy made you wish him to never leave your sight.
"I will pick Tatsu from school and head immediately home. So, is there anything specific you want me to get for you on my way back?", he asked with a smile as you grinned, if there is anything you'd want, then it is him.
"Not really, I will be waiting for you two", you said as he nodded and leaned in, kissing your cheek then left with Tatsu.

A few weeks passed, you have been getting ready to head to the hospital for your first checking there, looking st yourself in the mirror, you have noticed the bump in your belly is slightly larger than when you have been pregnant with Tatsu, it seems that you're gaining weight fast, maybe you should think about this later...
You have been in the hospital with Itachi as a nurse was checking on you, you didn't want to see by yourself as you wanted it to be a surprise for you as well, and find out together with Itachi.
"Somethings up?", you asked a bit worriedly noticing that the nurse was taking long looking at that screen, she is one of your trusted apprentices and you are sure she shouldn't have a problem with something like this, she shook her head no then turned to you with a smile and said:"lady [name], it is a twin, a boy and a girl"
