You were back home, and as expected it started raining, you have been at the kitchen preparing dinner while Itachi was with Tatsu reading a book for him, it was a beautiful and calm evening, the rain was falling gently oustide as the house felt warm inside especially with Itachi's presence.
After dinner, you put Tatsu in his bed then headed with Itachi to your room. You were sleepy and tired as well, and Itachi noticed this, it was best to just cuddle and maybe talk for a little while until you fall asleep, after all...your comfort comes first, and you two have all the time for yourselves to catch up to what you have been missing all these years.

It was late at night, the two of you have been sleeping deepily, Itachi was laying next to you and wrapping his arm around you keeping you close as you pulled the blankets close to your face. The feels was so beautiful, your eyes slowly opened waking up for a short while, it was a blissful night, the rain was still falling outside making a calming sound, you can hear Itachi breathing calmly, you flipped around and faced him, it was dark though, you couldn't see his face, you closed your eyes after you buried your face in his chest feeling him tangling a hand in your hair while his other arm was still around you, slowly then...you have fallen asleep again.

The next day, the sun came up after a rainy night, you three had breakfast together, you have been in your working room storing the herbs you have collected yesterday and checking your remedies and pills, while Itachi was with Tatsu in the yard doing some gardening work.
You stopped what you were doing as you heard a knock on the door, you hurried to open it and there you found lady Noriko with a nice smile on her face, you smiled back happily as you welcomed her in then lead her to your reception room, though she always visits you, you thought that her visit today might be for a reason, and your guess was correct.
"Sweetheart, is Itachi here? I want to talk to him about something", she said calmly as she sat on a pillow on the floor at the table facing you, this made you a bit surprised, why Itachi?!
"He is here, is there a something wrong m'lady?", you asked a bit worried as you could sense the seriousness in her voice.
"Oh no sweetheart, everything is alright, please tell him I'm here to see him", she said as you sighed in relief, you didn't want to ask more questions and nodded, standing up and going to tell Itachi.

"Welcome my lady, I have been told you want to see me ", Itachi said in a gentle voice sitting across from her around the table, you sat next to him after preparing some tea for the three of you, while Tatsu was still in the yard looking for snails that usually come out after a rainy night.
"Yes son, well, I will go straight to the point, during and after the war...we found ourselves and our village totally exposed to all kinds of external threatening, this has been always the case before, but when the war happened, we realized the weakness of our defense strategies and the importance to make a more built up and strong defense system, we need to pay more attention to our security and safety, and for that...I'd like to ask you my son to lend us your experience and knowledge about this matter, I'm asking you this because we consider you a member of our village now, we would really be glad if you accept to work with us and help us with this", the lady said as you raised your eyebrows in surprise, same thing for Itachi.
"You want me to take charge of the security of the village?!", Itachi asked in a surprised tone.
"Yes son, I talked with the other heads of the village about this matter and I suggested you, I expaliend to them about your experience and they seemed glad if you'd accept our offer, your past and previous life and what happened with your village is your only matter and we respect your privacy and no one will interfere in that, our request is clear, we need your help for constructing a strong protective system for our village and that's all", the lady said with a reassuring smile as you looked at Itachi trying to find out what he is thinking, he was just looking down, deep in thoughts.

"I would be glad to help m'lady, but please don't misunderstand me, I'm back to spend time with my wife and son and repent them for all the time I've been away, they are my top priority now, I can't put a job above them", Itachi said after a while of thinking, smiling at you slightly then looking at her.
"That's not a problem, it is for you son to decide a method of work, you will  be the head of our security system and you will not be alone of course, there are gonna be lots of people under your command, and others to share responsibility with you of course, we want you to take the leadership and guide them and organize them, and tell them what to do and how, believe me, you will have plenty of time to spend with this little lovely family of yours", the lady said with a little chuckle as Itachi sighed then smiled as he seemed to accept her offer.
"I guess I'm okay with this, it is the least I can do for this village and its people...", he said with a small smile as you smiled too.
"Alright son, we will go later to the office to introduce you and to make sure you're comfortable with your new position", the lady said as Itachi nodded, you were happy about this, Itachi will have something to do to fill up his empty time, especially when neither of you nor Tatsu is home, as he will strengthen his bonds with your village and have even another reason to stay in the village.

"Alrlight my lady, we will go after lunch then, I will go preapre it, [name] you just stay here", Itachi said as he then excused himself and headed to the kitchen leaving the two of you alone.
"He cooks?", the lady asked you a little bit surprised, someone who has been passing most of his time out as a ninja barely have time to learn these things, but Itachi was too skilled.
"Yes m'lady, you have no idea how good is the food he makes", you replied with a grin as you felt proud of him, still lady Noriko was just observing your face with a small smirk, noticing the great change on your face and the happiness on it ever since Itachi got back.
"Hm...cooking doesn't seem to be the only one thing he is good at, right [name]?", the lady said with her smirk making your face blush, "w-what do you mean my lady?", you asked her in a nervous voice, of course you know what she means, this made her chuckle at your cute reaction, you're still as sweet as always, "alright [name], let's wait to taste his food then, meanwhile you tell me how you're doing", she said not wanting to embarrass you more as you smiled at her.
