"How unfair, it's just our luck"

After the small fight yo had with your mom that day, you never thought it'd be the last time you'd ever see her. She never thought it'd be the last time she seen you. Natasha had always prepared you for her death, but was she entirely prepared for yours?

"Y/n, you are not doing this." She tells you sternly.

"Mom, why? I'm just as capable as you" You say.

"What if you get hurt?" Natasha says, her voice much softer this time.

"Then I'll make sure I don't" You say, going to walk out of the apartment. Natasha moves quickly and pulls you back by your wrist and into her body.

"You are not leaving this apartment, you hear me?" She says, her voice low and dangerous. She looks like she would literally kill you if you left. You hesitantly nod, sitting down on the couch. "Thank you, Мое сердце" She says, going to the door. A weird feeling hits you, but you can't put your finger on what it is. You run up to your mom and wrap your arms around her. She returns the action.

"I love you, mama" You say. She smiles down at you.

"I love you too, Мое сердце" She replies. She shuts the door to the small apartment. Neither of you suspected that was the last time you'd ever see each other.

"They will come, they will go"

It was approximately 14:09 when you looked at the clock on your phone. She should've been back by now, but she wasn't. Normally, Natasha Romanoff was one to keep her word but on this particular occasion, she had to break that streak. And you really, truly understood why. It was the fate of all humanity at stake. But when the air turns thick, you begin feeling sick, uneasy even. Your hands go clammy and you feel bile rise to your throat as you look to your hands, only to see them disintegrating before your very eyes. You look at them as if your eyes deceive you, but unfortunately they do not. As the rest of your body disappears, only one person is in your thoughts.

Your mom.

Her face is the last thing you envision before descending into the darkness of sleep.

"But if you'd searched the whole wide world

Would you dare to let it go? "

As Natasha enters the apartment, she expects to see you laying on the couch, an episode of whatever TV show you were obsessing over at the time. She makes a quick run around the apartment, panic evident on her features. She decides the call your cellphone, realising you don't go anywhere without it. Her heart sinks to her stomach when she hears it ringing from the couch. When she sits down, a wave of realisation hits her straight to the face. You're gone. Reduced to dust. Dead. Plain, dead. Natasha sobs into her hands. She never said goodbye. Did she say she loved you enough? Did she tell you everything she wanted to? How could she know? You aren't here.

"If your heart was full of love"

Natasha grips onto Clint's wrist. This was it. She could bring everyone back, including you. But she'd never see you again. As she looks down, then back up at her long time friend, she knows what she has to do.
