Also, the way I ACTUALLY researched apartments around UCLA for this. I'm so fucking extra

Taehyung leaves after a few rounds of Fifa and Jimin lies down to take a quick nap. Jungkook walks downstairs to talk to Jimin's parents.

His mom is the only one home. She's cooking in the kitchen.

"Hey Mrs. Park."

"Oh. Hey Kookie. What's up?"

"Nothing. I just had a quick question about college. Are you okay with me and Jimin rooming together? It made my parents a little uncomfortable so I just thought I'd make sure you're okay with it."

"Yeah, I'm totally okay with it as long as your parents are too."

"I managed to convince them to say yes."

"Well then I have absolutely no problem with you guys rooming together."

"Okay, now that we know that we're rooming together, we need to discuss where we're going to live. Jimin is leaning towards off-campus and so am I because almost every on-campus dorm has 3 beds."

Jimin's mom giggles. "Yeah, that wouldn't work. Have you guys checked out the apartments around the school."

Jungkook pulls out his phone. "Yeah. We're really impressed by one that's 1.5 miles away from campus. It's a loft suite with one bed and one bath. It's very spacious and as far as I'm concerned, it's a great price for LA apartments."

"Do you have photos?"

"Yeah. Here's the... main living area and the kitchen."

Jimin's mom looks at it

Jimin's mom looks at it. "Woah. That looks really nice. And the bedroom is upstairs?"

"Yeah. I have a photo of that too."

"Fancy

"Fancy. The only thing I'm concerned about with this is the fact that there only one desk. Would you take turns doing homework?"

"No. There's a small table in the downstairs area that has outlets so I could easily plug in my laptop and do my homework."

"Do you have a photo of that?"

"Yeah."

"Oh

"Oh. There's a patio too."

"Yeah. It seems really nice."

"What's the monthly rent?"

"Well, before I tell you, keep in mind that the average rent for apartments of this size in the LA area is $5,000 per month."

"Ouch. Just tell me."

"$2,795."

"Oh. Not as bad as I thought. What are all the amenities?"

"Theres a fitness center, premium wifi, a rooftop lounge, parking, in-unit laundry, 24-hour emergency maintenance, and it's pet friendly."

"Sounds good."

"My parents said they'd be willing to pay half."

"Then I agree to pick up the other half."

Jungkook smiles. "Of course, I'm gonna get a job and Jimin probably will too. We'll pay for everything but rent until we can help out too, but Jimin said he wants to save up for a car."

"Why? We could just contact a car shipping company and have your car sent over."

"Wait, those exist?"

"Yeah."

"Oh. Well then that's a way better option."

"What's Jimin doing right now?"

"Napping. He was really sleepy today, but I'll tell him you said yes to the apartment when he wakes up."

Jimin's mom rests her hand on Kook's. "Thank you for being there for him 24/7. I don't know how he would've made it through this without you."

Jungkook knows she's referring to Mr. Frauland. He grins softly. "Of course I'm here for him. He really means a lot to me."
