Chapter 15

The rooms of the two boys are decorated with streamers and balloons, and the windows have a banner saying "Welcome Home!".
Ben and Joe are standing in the doorway, completely speechless.
Ben is the first to speak again. 'Wow, guys....- Did you do all this for us?' He looks at Rami and Gwil, who are still in the hallway with big smirks on their faces.
'That's.....that's so sweet.' Joe says softly, showing their friends a huge smile.
'Yeah well, after being in the hospital for over a week, we felt you deserved a nice welcome back.' Rami says beaming.
'It may not be like home, but we wanted you to feel at home in your hotel rooms.' Gwil adds as he smiles at his friends.
'You are the best friends anyone can ever have.' The four friends give each other a hug.
'I say we're having a movie marathon tonight to celebrate everyone's health.' Rami suggests.
The others nod with a smile.

About one and a half movie later, Rami suddenly feels someone resting his head on his shoulder. He looks aside, and sees Joe being peacefully asleep. With a smirk, Rami grabs the remote and pauses the movie. 'How about I get us some more drinks?'
Gwil smirks as well, knowing Rami is up to something. 'Yes, that'd be nice.'
Ben nods in agreement.
Rami steals one last glance at the sleeping Joe. 'Okay then. Ben, can you take over?' He says to the blond before slipping away from beneath Joe. With a smug smile he walks towards the kitchen.
Ben immediately scoots over to take the boy's place, so Joe won't fall off the couch. Half of the ginger's body weight ends up on top of Ben's chest, as the boy continues sleeping like nothing's going on.
'I hate the two of you.' Ben says as he shoots Gwil a death glare.
The tall boy grins. 'No you don't.' He says when he sees Ben looking at Joe with a smile.
'No comment.' Ben mumbles.
Gwil rolls his eyes with a smile.

After watching three movies in Ben's room they all agreed it's time to go to sleep. Ben carefully woke up Joe, the latter immediately turned red when he saw he was practically on top of Ben. After Ben assured the ginger it was okay, Joe carefully let his head rest on the blond's chest again.
'You're coming Joe? You and Ben both need your rest after today.' Rami says.
Joe lets out a soft groan before slowly getting up.
The boys say goodnight to each other and go to their own room, leaving Ben behind.
The blond checks his watch, and sees that it is already a quarter to twelve. He yawns and starts making his way towards his bedroom.
After putting on some sweatpants, the boy plops down onto his bed.
He grabs his phone and checks for any messages. Only some insta messages. He scrolls through all the fan arts his fans have made for him. After a while, he puts his phone away with a smile.
Man, this was a tough week. Ben pulls the blanket up to his chin. After a week of sleeping in a hospital bed, this bed feels so soft like a cloud.
But no matter how comfortable this bed is, he is unable to fall asleep.
After a while of just staring at the ceiling, he picks up his phone, doubting whether to text Joe or not. Maybe he's already asleep, and Ben doesn't want to wake him up.
Then he gets a message from Gwil.

(23:57 Pm) Gwil: Hey, can't you sleep?

(23:57 pm) Ben: How do you know?

(23:57 Pm) Gwil: I can see you're online :)

(23:57 Pm) Ben: Now you look like a stalker, you know that right? But no I can't sleep. My mind is driving me crazy :(

(23:58 Pm) Gwil: Thinking about Joe again? You really like him, don't you? Then ask him on a date, silly!

(23:58 Pm) Ben: Yes I do really like him. But I can't just ask my best friend on a date! We still have to shoot scenes together for at least another month. What if he says no? Then it will be a very long month I'm afraid. Besides, why would he like me? I am useless to him. I don't wanna ruin the friendship we have.

Then there is a knock on the door of Ben's hotel room. Ben quickly puts on a shirt and opens the door.
Gwil is standing in the doorway with a comforting smile. 'I thought you could use a little company now.'
Ben nods gratefully and lets Gwil in. They sit down on the edge of Ben's bed together.
'Before I tell you that what you said in that last message is nonsense, I need to ask you something else, mostly because I'm a bit worried about you.' Gwil says as he looks at Ben seriously.
Ben gives him a questioning look.
'If you really don't want to tell, that's okay of course, but know you can tell me anything.' Gwil says.
Ben nods. 'What is it? Tell me.' He looks at Gwil, waiting for him to say something.
'The night Joe was taken to the hospital you had a panic attack. I don't know if you remember, but you said something about the past?' Gwil can see that Ben is shocked by this question.
'I don't want you to bottle up your feelings because you think you can't tell anyone.' Gwil adds, putting his hand on Ben's shoulder.
He notices Ben's breathing fastens a little. 'Ben, are you okay?' Gwil looks at him concerned.
Then Ben bursts into tears. 'I- I.' He sobs, not able to speak properly.
Gwil puts his arm around his friend, hoping to offer the boy some comfort. He feels Ben's shoulders shaking violently from crying. 'Hey it's okay, I got you.' He whispers. 'Oh Ben, I'm so sorry. I should've never brought it up.' Gwil says while still hugging his friend.
After a while, the sobs coming from Ben's throat get softer and softer.
'N-no you're right. I have to tell someone.' Ben gives Gwil a little smile through his tears. 'And I'm glad it's you.'
Gwil smiles at that.
'It's just... when Joe stopped breathing I recalled something from my past. Something that I tried to forget.' Ben starts, wiping away his tears.

And so, Ben tells Gwil everything. When the blond looks up again, he sees Gwil looking at him with tears in his eyes.
Ben looks at his friend in fear. What will Gwil think of him now?
Gwilym says nothing, gets up, and gives Ben a hug. 'I'm so sorry about all that.' He whispers during the hug.
Ben lets out a shaky breath out of relief, happy about Gwil's reaction.
'Would you like me to stay here tonight?' Gwil asks.
Ben shakes his head. 'No, thanks. I prefer to be alone for a while so I can think.'
Gwil nods. 'I get that, you know where to find me when you need me. Oh and stop saying that you're useless to Joe. You're not, you're an amazing friend.'
A small smile appears on Ben's face.
'Good night Ben.'
Ben gives Gwil a smile. 'Good night Gwil.'
