Chapter 80

A few days later, the two are home again from their little vacation.
They agreed to visit Joe's parents, to tell them the good news about their engagement of course.
They haven't talked anymore about the whole thing with Ben's aunt.
Joe asked Ben a few times about what he's gonna do, mostly to check if the boy is okay.
But every time Joe asked, Ben changed the topic. Which is a sign for the ginger that the boy isn't okay.
But despite that, he decided to let it go for now. He doesn't want to pressure Ben.

Ben has been awake for a while because of the nerves. With a big smile he looks at Joe, who's snuggling close to him once again.
'Gosh you're so beautiful.' Ben whispers.
'So are you.' The ginger mumbles.
A little startled, Ben looks at his fiancé. 'Well, good morning to you too.' He chuckles.
Still a bit sleep-drunk, Joe sits straight up, with his back against the headboard.
Ben smiles, and rests his head in Joe's lap. He giggles softly when he feels that Joe starts to play with his hair.
'Are you nervous to meet my parents?' Joe asks after a while of silence.
Ben chuckles nervously. 'Yeah, a little. I hope they like me.' 
Joe smiles and can't help but think about how cute Ben is when he's nervous. 'You know they already do.'
Ben sits up and smiles. 'I'm gonna hop into the shower real quick sweetheart. I'll be right back.' He gets up and gives Joe a kiss on the cheek.
Joe nods. 'Okay honey. I should get dressed anyway.' He says. 

With a smile, Ben disappears into the bathroom.
Joe gets out of bed and gets some clothes together. He scrolls through some Instagram posts before getting dressed.
After putting on his pants, he turns around to look for a sweater. When he turns around again, his breath hitches briefly.
Ben comes out of the bathroom with only a towel around his waist, his hair still wet from the shower. 
Joe bites his lip and has trouble taking his eyes off Ben's chest. As soon as Ben looks at him, Joe looks away and continues dressing.
Ben giggles softly. 'Don't pretend like you weren't staring.' 
Joe giggles and starts to blush. 'Sorry. I just can't believe I can stare at you all day.'
Ben smiles and pulls Joe's hips close to his. 'Well, you can. Cause I'm all yours.' He whispers with a grin. He doesn't get any more chance to speak, because Joe pushes his lips against his.
Soon they're passionately making out. Ben lets out a pleased moan, and places his hands around Joe's back. The latter cups Ben's face with his hands.

And if Joe's phone hadn't rang, they might have gone a few steps further.
Ben chuckles when he sees Joe roll his eyes.
'Ugh why now?' The ginger complains.
Ben grins and hands Joe his phone. 
Joe smiles and gives Ben a quick kiss on the lips. 'It's Rami.' He says before answering the phone.

'Hi Rami.'
'Hey Joe, I was wondering if we could meet the whole club tonight? Watch a movie or something? It feels like I really haven't spoken to you guys in a month.' Rami says with a chuckle.
Joe looks at Ben, who nods enthusiastically.
The ginger giggles softly. 'Yeah sounds nice. Ben and I have some news for you guys, so tonight is actually perfect. But with the whole club you mean...?' Joe asks a little hesitant.
'Well you two, Gwil, and maybe Lina if that's possible with the twins, me and Lucy.' Rami says.
Joe nods, but then realizes that Rami can't see it. 'Okay, sounds fun! But are you sure you're okay with that? I mean, you and Lucy only broke up two weeks ago.'
Ben smiles when Joe asks Rami this. His boyfriend is so sweet and thoughtful.
'Yeah yeah, Lucy and I both agreed to be just friends.' Rami's voice says through the phone.
Joe smiles reassured. 'Okay then, at our place?' He asks, while he looks with a questioning look at Ben.
The blond boy nods with a smile. He really can't wait to tell their friends about their engagement.
'Sounds great! I'll text the others.' Rami says happily. 

Joe hangs up the phone and smiles at his boyfriend.
But Ben, in the mean time, started hopping on his feet because of the nerves. 'C'mon baby, if we're gonna be late at your parents I'm already making a wrong impression before I even talked to them.' He says nervously.
Joe giggles and gives him a kiss on the lips. 'Don't worry honey. They already love you. Probably the first thing my mom will do when she sees you is hugging you. And my dad will ask you a hundred times if you wanna take good care of me.'
A little grin appears on Joe's face when he sees that his words make Ben a little less nervous.
'How do you know?' Ben asks with a smile.
'My parents are predictable. Joe says with a shrug.
Ben rolls his eyes with a smile and throws Joe's jacket to him. 'Well, I still wanna be on time.'

Not much later, Ben and Joe are at the door of the house of Joe's parents.
Joe rings the doorbell, and not much later the door opens.
Gina is standing in the doorway with a big smile. 'Ben, Joe hi! It's so good to finally see you.' She says cheerfully.
Before Joe can say anything, his mother pulls him into a hug. 'Hi Mom, good to see you again.' Joe chuckles. 
When they let go of each other, Joe steps aside and reveals a shy Ben behind him.
Ben puts out his hand to Gina. 'Hi Gina, good to finally meet you in person.' He says with a nervous smile.
But like Joe had told him before, Gina doesn't take his hand but hugs him instead.
'Good to see you Ben. Joe told me so much about you.' She says when they let go.
Ben looks at Joe, who nods with light pink cheeks. 'Oh gosh, only the good things, I hope?' He asks with a smile.
Gina laughs and nods. 'Yeah, don't worry.' She chuckles. 'But come in. Joseph is in the living room.' She gestures to the two to come in.

When they enter the living room Joe's Dad gets up from the couch and walks over to them. 'Hi boys! Good to see you.' He says happily. 
Joe smiles and gives his dad a short hug. 'Hey Dad, good to see you again after such a long time. I really missed you guys.' He says.
After they let go of each other, Joseph looks at Ben with a big smile. 'Hi Ben, good to finally meet you in person. Much better than over the phone.' He says with a wink.
Ben smiles and nods. 'Nice to meet you Joseph.' He says.
'Joe, why don't you give Ben a tour of the house? Then in the meantime I make us some tea.' Gina says.
Joe nods and pulls Ben with him by his arm.

Above the stairs are many pictures on the wall. Ben pauses for a moment at a baby photo of Joe.
Joe giggles and rolls his eyes. 'Oh god. I should prepare you for a lot of baby photos. Most of them are really awkward.'
Ben smiles. 'Don't worry honey, you look cute anyway.' 
The two continue up the stairs, and when they are upstairs, Joe opens a door.
Ben walks in and looks around the room in awe. 'Is this your old bedroom?' He asks.
Joe nods. 'Yeah. Or well, mine and John's. We shared a room.' 
Ben chuckles softly when he notices how the room has been split into two parts.
One half of the room has baseball pictures and team shirts on the wall above the bed. The other half mainly has movie posters on the wall. 
Ben walks over to the pictures above John's bed to take a closer look. And then he feels something he hasn't felt for a long time.
He feels a panic attack coming.
