Chapter 21

It remains quiet for a moment.
Joe looks nervously at Ben. It is now or never. 'Hey, uhm, I wanted to ask you something. You can totally say no but uhm...-' He stops talking, not sure if he wants to finish the sentence. Their friendship could end if he does finish.
Ben looks at him. 'Tell me.' He says with a reassuring look.
'Well uhm, would you maybe like to go out for dinner with me? I had a good time yesterday, and I want to thank you. Maybe we can do it without someone beating you up this time.' Joe says. He looks nervously at his shoes. Why would Ben want to date the guy who caused his concussion?
What was he thinking? 'S-sorry, that was a stupid idea. I shouldn't have asked that.' The ginger gets up and walks towards the door, wanting to leave very badly now.
Then he feels his wrist being gripped. He turns around, seeing Ben standing there holding his wrist.
'It's a date.' Ben says blushing. 'What about tomorrow night?' He tries not to show how exited he is, but he can't fight the big smile appearing on his face.
'Tomorrow night sounds perfect.' Joe says with a big smile. 'I'll pick you up at seven, if that's okay?'
Ben immediately nods. 'I can't wait.'
Joe walks to the door, feeling like he's floating right now. Before leaving the room, he shoots Ben one last smile.
The door closes, and Ben lets himself fall down onto the couch. What just happened? He can't believe Joe asked him out.
He grabs his phone, and searches for chat with Gwil. 

(11:57 Am) Ben: Gwil, you're never going to believe what just happened!

Gwil comes online immediately.
Ben giggles softly. Gwil is going to love this news.

(11:57 Am) Gwil: Tell me. Is it bad? Because then I'll be right there.  
                                                                      
(11:58 Am) Ben: No, it's not bad at all, so you can stay in your room. It's great news :) Joe just asked me out for dinner. He will pick me up tomorrow evening. I just can't believe it!

Ben sees that Gwil has read the message, but the tall boy doesn't send a message back. The blond looks at the screen of his phone expectantly. Then he sees that Gwil is no longer online.
Less than a minute later there is a knock on the door. 
Ben opens the door, and before he realizes what's going on, Gwil has him in his arms.
'I am so happy for you two.' Gwil says before he lets go of Ben. With a huge smirk, he looks at the blond boy.
Ben blushes. 'It's just dinner.' He says softly with a smile.
'Don't be so modest Ben Hardy. You have a date!' Gwil says before he hugs the boy again.
The two friends sit on the couch together, since Gwil insists that Ben tells how Joe asked him.

Joe enters his own hotel room and plops down on his bed. He stares at the ceiling.
He did it. And Ben said yes.
A smile appears on his face. After a while he picks up his phone and decides to send Brian a message first. 

(12:04 Pm) Joe: Hey Brian, thanks again for your help yesterday. Our conversation helped me a lot. I asked Ben out today. And he said yes! I wouldn't have dared without your help. I'll see you on set again this Monday. Thank you so much again. Take care!

Once the message is sent, Joe goed to the chat with Rami. He texts the boy if Rami can come to his hotel room. The ginger would like to tell him in person, mostly because he wants to see Rami's face. 
He puts his phone on his nightstand, and closes his eyes as he sinks deeper into the mattress of his bed.
About ten minutes later he gets a message back from Rami.

(12:14 Pm) Rami: Lucy is here, can she come along? Or is it something serious?

(12:15 Pm) Joe: No no, it is not. You should bring her along, I have some great news :)

Not much later, Rami and Lucy are at the door of Joe's hotel room. Rami knocks on the door, which immediately opens. Apparently Joe was waiting for them.
The ginger smiles at the couple and gestures for them to enter.
'So, what's the good news? You've made us very curious.' Rami looks questioningly at Joe, who sits down on the couch with a grin.
The ginger sees Rami almost bursting with curiosity, and can't help but stall a little to tease his friends.
To keep his friend in suspense a little longer, Joe says to Lucy: 'Good to see you again Luce. Are you feeling better after yesterday?' 
Lucy has to think about what Joe is talking about, but then nods. He has to make an effort not to smile. If Joe only knew that she wasn't sick at all. 'Much better. Sorry Rami and Gwil had to leave the dinner because of me.'
'Oh don't worry about it. You couldn't help it that you didn't feel well.' Joe gives her a smile.
'Yeah yeah, enough small talk. I want to hear the good news!' Rami says impatiently.
Joe tries not to laugh and nods. He takes a deep breath. 'I did it.' He says with a huge smile.
Rami gives him a puzzled look. Lucy doesn't seem to understand Joe either.
'I uhm- I asked Ben out.' Joe says it softly, as if he doesn't believe it himself. 'And he said yes. We're going out for dinner tomorrow night.'
Lucy lets out a squeal. 'Oh my god, that's great news Joe! I am so happy for you two!' She gives him a hug. 
Rami looks at his friend with a proud, but also quite smug smile. 'I told you I knew who it was. I'm proud of you.'
Joe giggles softly as he rolls his eyes. 
Rami puts his arm around the ginger with a smirk. 'So, when is the wedding?'
Lucy giggles softly. 'I'd like to know that as well actually.' She says, playing along.
Joe starts blushing, and gives Rami a playful nudge.'Rami, sometimes I wonder why we are friends.' He says, trying to look insulted.
'Because you need me.' Rami sticks his tongue out to Joe.
The ginger sighs loudly. 'You're right, I can't live without you. Who else am I supposed to tease?' 
'Says the person with a perm.' Rami fires back. 
Joe grabs a pillow from the couch and throws it at Rami. The pillow is full in his face.
'Oh I will get you for that, Mazzello!' Rami takes the pillow that was just thrown at him by Joe and throws it back.
But he misses Joe, and the pillow hits Lucy instead. She lets out an indignant "Hey!" before throwing the pillow into her boyfriend's face. 
Not long after that, there are pillows all over the floor.
Joe sits down on the couch wearily. 'I surrender guys.' He says, panting.
Rami laughs. 'Come on, Lucy, we'll leave Mr Mazzello alone. He has a date to prepare!'
