Chapter 34

'Lina and I are moving in together.' Gwil says beaming.
Lina gives a soft giggle at the happy faces of the others.
'Really? That's great. I am so happy for you two.' Joe wants to get up and give the two a hug. But before he can, Lina continues talking.
'But there's more, actually. Gwil and I have a very good reason for this.' Lina says as she looks nervously at Gwil.
Rami, Joe and Ben look at each other. They see that all of them are bursting with curiosity.
'Well, are you going to tell us? I'm about to burst.' Rami says.
Gwil smirks. 'Should we tell them honey? Or do we leave them in suspense for a while?' He says teasingly.
Lina smiles. 'Tell them sweetie. I would like to keep Rami as a friend.'
Gwil nods in agreement. 'You're right. We better keep him and those other two as friends. Our little one will need its uncles.' With a big grin, Gwil waits for his words to reach his friends.
'U-uncles?' Joe stutters.
'Your-your little one?' Rami adds, stammering.
'You mean you two...?' Ben asks with wide eyes. 
Gwil nods. 'Yes, Lina and I are having a baby.' He says happily before giving her a kiss.
The three friends get up and take turns hugging Gwil and Lina.
Joe is the last to hug Gwil, seeing the tears of joy in his eyes. 'Congratulations man. That little human is lucky with such good parents.' The gingr whispers to him.
Gwil smiles through his teares. 'Thank you.' He whispers back.
Ben walks past Gwil to Lina, and hugs her too. 'What great news! Congratulations. How far are you?' He says when he lets her go.
'About fourteen weeks.' She says happily. 'And all is well with the baby.'
Ben gives her a smile. 'That's good to hear.' 

'How long have you known this?' Joe asks Gwil.
'Only since yesterday. Lina told it over the phone. Hence, I left the room.' Gwil explains with a huge smile.
'I've known for a few weeks already.' Lina says with a soft giggle. 'I just wanted to make sure the baby is healthy before making Gwil happy. A lot can go wrong early on in a pregnancy. So I waited until yesterday, when I was exactly fourteen weeks. The doctor said it is a miracle that we have a healthy baby.' She says, taking Gwil's hand and intertwining their fingers.
The three boys look at Gwil and Lina in surprise.
'Why a miracle?' Joe asks amazed.
Lina looks at Gwil.
'They don't know how we met yet, honey.' He says softly. 'I just wasn't ready yet.'  
Ben takes a step forward, looking at his friend with a reassuring smile. 'Hey, I don't know what's going on, but if you don't want to tell us that's okay. Whenever you are ready.'
Gwil looks at him with relief. 'Thank you. I think I'll keep it to myself today. I would like to keep the atmosphere cozy.' He says to his friends.
The three nod understandingly before the five sit down on the couch again.
'So Gwil, do Brian and Roger actually know?' Rami asks curiously.
Gwil shakes his head. 'Just you guys and our parents.' He says. 
Joe smiles. 'Well, when are you gonna tell them?'
Gwil shrugs. 'We don't know yet.'
'Gwil is always scared he'll a burden to them.' Lina says.
Ben smiles. 'I don't think they'll mind when you tell them your good news.'

The conversation continues for a while before Ben suddenly gets up. 'Uhm, Rami? Can you come with me for a second?' The boy asks.
Rami looks at him confused, but still nods. The two disappear into the halway, leaving the others behind in surprise.
When the two are alone Rami gives Ben a worried look. 'What is it?'
'Easy, nothing serious.' Ben laughs. 'I uhm- I want to tell you something, and ask you a favour. But you can't tell anyone, promise?'
Rami nods. 'Yes of course. My lips are sealed.'
Ben smiles and takes a deep breath. 'Okay well, Joe and I kind of- well we uhm...-' He stammers.
And although the boy hasn't even finished his sentence yet, Rami already has a suspicion.
'Joe and I kissed last night.' Ben says with red cheeks.
Rami's mouth falls open. 'Oh my god. No fucking way. I knew you to were made for each other!' Rami says, just a little too loud.
'Shh! The others can't hear you.' Ben says.
'Sorry, I'm just happy for you two.' Rami says with a giggle. 'But what favor did you want to ask me?'
'Well, um, I'm taking Joe out tomorrow night. Can you please keep him occupied at the hotel? Otherwise the surprise may be ruined.' Ben asks shyly. 
Rami smiles. 'Yes of course. Anything for my best friends, you know that. Now let's go back to the others, otherwise they will get suspicious.'
Ben nods in agreement. 'Good idea.'

When they walk back into the room, they see the others looking at the two expectantly.
'What was that about? Everything okay?' Joe asks concerned.
Ben gives him a reassuring smile and nods.
'Yes everything okay.' Rami says.
The two sit on the couch with the others again, hoping no more questions will be asked.
'Hey do you have anything planneed tomorrow afternoon?' Gwil suddenly asks.
Joe looks at Ben. When he shakes his head, Joe shakes his head too.
'No not yet, why?' Ben asks.
'How about lunch with Roger and Brian?' Gwil grins.
Rami rolls his eyes with a smile when he notices Gwil's excitement. 'Sounds good.'
Ben and Joe also nod in agreement.
'Do you think it's a good idea too, love? Otherwise we can wait a while to tell if you want that?' Gwil asks Lina.
She chuckles at Gwil's concern. 'No, tomorrow is perfect darling. I can't wait to meet Brian and Roger and tell them the great news.' She says with a big smile.
'Well, then that is settled. I'll text Brian.' Ben says with a smile. He picks up his phone and starts typing.

(12:52 Pm) Ben:  Hey Brian. The boys and I were wondering if you and Roger would like to have lunch with us tomorrow afternoon? Gwil wants to introduce his girlfriend to you. And they have a big surprise for you :)

Ben reads aloud what he typed. When Gwil approves, he sends the message.
Not much later he receives an answer from Brian.

(12:57 Pm) Brian: Hi Ben, lunch all together sounds good. Roger is also looking forward to it. He is especially curious about the surprise :) Just tell Gwil we can't wait to meet his girlfriend. How about lunch at my place?

(12:57 Pm) Ben: Sounds good. And you and Roger are going to love this surprise, believe me :) Is it okay if we get to you around noon?

Brian sends a thumb back.
'It is arranged.' Ben says with a big smile.
