Chapter 38

When Joe opens his eyes the next morning, the first thing he sees is Ben fast asleep against him. The boy has his head rested on Joe's stomach, and has his arm clung around Joe's waist. A big smile appears on the ginger's face. He can't believe he can really call Ben his boyfriend. 'You're so beautiful Benny.' He whispers to the sleeping boy.
After a while of admiring his boyfriend, Joe really has to use the bathroom. He carefully sits up and puts a pillow under Ben's head. He gets out of bed and tiptoes to the bathroom.
When he returns, he sees two sleepy green eyes looking at him. 'Good morning love. Did you sleep well?' Joe asks as he sits back down on the bed.
A grin appears on Ben's sleepy face. 'How can I not sleep well next to such a sweet boyfriend.'
Joe blushes and leans over to give Ben a kiss on the forehead. 'Are you sure you are ready for today?' He asks Ben.
The latter needs to think about what Joe is talking about. Then he remembers. He's going to talk to his father. Ben takes a deep breath and nods. 'I think so. I have to do it. Otherwise he will continue to bother me.' Ben says. He sits up and gives Joe a quick kiss on the cheek. 'I'll make us some breakfast. Do you fancy a fried egg?'
Joe smiles at him and nods. 'Sounds good.'

Not much later, the two are sitting together at the breakfast table.
'Whoa, I have a boyfriend who is handsome and makes delicious eggs. What a dream man.' Joe says with a smirk on his face as soon as he has taken a bite from his egg.
Ben blushes and looks shyly at his plate.
Joe puts his hand on Ben's, intertwining their fingers. 'Are you sure you're gonna go to your father all by yourselve? I don't mind coming along.'
Ben gives Joe a reassuring smile. 'I have to do this alone. He's my dad, I can handle him.'
When Joe looks at him still worried, he comes up with a plan. 'How about we call each other while I go to talk to him? Then you can hear everything that is said.'
Joe nods. 'Sounds like a good plan to me.' Then he receives a message.

(10:48 Am) Rami: Good morning! How did your date go? Tell me every detail. Otherwise, I'll come to your hotel room to get it out of you :)

Joe giggles softly and lets Ben read the message. 'Are we going to tell them already?' He asks Ben.
Ben smiles. 'I think we should. Otherwise, I can't kiss you in front of them, and I don't know if I'll survive that. But only if you're ready as well.'
Joe giggles softly. 'I am. I'll invite Gwil and Rami for a cup of tea. Then we'll tell them.'
Ben nods and gives Joe a kiss on the hand. 'I'm going to take a shower blanket. Just sit here and stay pretty, okay?'
Joe giggles. 'I'll try my best Benny.'
While Ben is in the shower, Joe sends a message to Rami.

(10:51 Am) Joe: Why don't you come over for tea? Then I'll tell you everything. And take Gwil with you. Will I see you at my hotel room in 15 minutes?

(10:51 Am) Rami: We'll be there. I am so curious :)

Fifteen minutes later, Ben and Joe are nervously waiting for their friends.
When there is a knock on Joe's door, the ginger feels his heart skip a beat. He gets up to open the door, taking a deep breath. He looks at Ben before opening the door.
The blond boy gives him an encouraging nod.
'Sorry we're late. Gwil couldn't say goodbye to Lina.' Is the first thing Rami says when the door opens.
Joe chuckles nervously when he sees Gwil roll his eyes. 'Come in, Ben's already here.' He says.
Gwil and Rami nod, and follow Joe into the room, where Ben just came back from the kitchen with a tray full of tea.
When they are all sitting on the couch with a cup of tea, Rami asks curiously: 'And now about your date. How did it go? Was it romantic?' A big grin appears on his face.
Gwil must do his best not to laugh.
Joe and Ben look at each other with a smile. 'It was more than romantic.' Joe says with a dreamy look, staring into each other's eyes.
Gwil chuckles. 'Well, tell us everything about your night.' He says.
Ben looks at Joe and takes his hand. They intertwine their fingers.
Rami's mouth falls open.
'In brief? Joe is my boyfriend.' Ben says with a big smile.
The eyes of their two friends widen.
'What?! Oh my God!' Rami exclaims as he jumps up to hug the two.
Gwil gets up as well, telling both boys how happy he is for them. 'So, you finally got your man huh?' He says to Ben with a smirk.
The blond smiles as his cheeks redden a little. 'I guess I did.'

After Ben and Joe tell the other two how their evening went, it falls silent for a moment.
Then Ben tells about his father. 'So uhm, my father contacted me again. I'm meeting him tonight.' He says.
Before Rami and Gwil can even start about that being too dangerous, Joe explains their plan. 'Don't worry. I'm calling Ben so I can hear what's happening through the phone. This way we know for sure that it is safe.'
Gwil nods, but still doesn't seem very sure about this plan. 'I don't know guys. Maybe you should make sure you have a emergency button ready.'
Ben raises his eyebrow. 'What's that?' He asks.
'It's a button that sends us your location when you press it. That way we can keep track of where you go.' Gwil explains.
Rami looks at the tall boy. 'You really think that's necessary?'
Gwil shrugs. 'I don't know. But isn't it better to be sure we can help Ben when he needs us to?'
Joe nods. 'I think Gwil is right.'
Ben takes a deep breath. 'Okay then.'
Rami looks at his friend. 'What time do you have to go to the park?' He checks his watch to see what time it is.
'My father has asked me if I can meet him at 8 pm tonight at the fountain.' Ben says before he looks at Joe. 'So I still have all day to spend time with my friends.' He says with a grin.
'Well that is with one friend less. I'm traveling home this afternoon to Lina.' Gwil says.
Rami looks at him indignantly. 'Leaving us already, Gwil?' He asks as he crosses his arms.
Gwil chuckles and nods. 'But I have a good reason. I would never just leave you like that Rami, you know that.' He says in an exaggerated tone.
Rami rolls his eyes.
'Well what's that good reason?' Joe asks curiously.
A big smile appears on Gwil's face. 'Lina has an ultrasound tomorrow, and it will be the first one I get to see. I don't want to miss that.'
His friends look at him happily.
'Okay, for this time I approve of you leaving.' Rami says with a wink.
Gwil pretends to sigh with relief.
'When do you leave?' Joe asks.
'Well my train leaves at six pm. If all goes well I will be with Lina at nine pm.' Gwil says as he gets up. He checks his watch. 'So I'm going to pack some stuff. I'll talk to you later guys.'

That evening, Ben is getting ready to go to the park.
He and Joe had ordered pizza and watched some TV together, trying to relax before Ben had to leave. And although Ben denied it every time Joe asked if he was nervous, the blond now feels the adrenaline rushing through his body.
After checking that the phones are working, Ben heads for the fountain in the park.
Just before Ben steps out the door, Joe stops him. 'One more thing.' He says before putting his arms around Ben's waist. 'I love you.' He whispers before kissing his boyfriend.
Ben smiles at the boy. 'I love you too.' He says. He turns around, and nervously walks out of the hall.
Joe watches him until he is out of sight. Not knowing what is going to happen to him and Ben this crazy evening...

Yes that was a really bad try to form a cliffhanger I know🙃 But I think y'all are gonna love the next few chapters. There's a lot of drama coming guys

Btw if I'm not longer alive after tomorrow then blame my school. I'm having freaking four tests tomorrow😵
