Chapter 2

'Gosh man, that took a long time.'
'And where is Joe?'
'You were going to get him, right?'
The director, Rami and Gwilym all look at Ben questioningly. The latter is so out of breath because of the running, that he didn't even hear who came up with which question.
Roger and Brian now also come from the canteen. 'Is everything okay here?' Roger looks at Ben, who is still out of breath.
The boy shakes his head. 'No........Joe......Not okay.......Fever.' Ben gasps.
'Poor boy, is he asleep now?' Brian asks.
Ben nods.
'Shouldn't we check on him?' Gwil asks a bit worried.
Ben nods in agreement. 'Yeah we should. And I'll stay with him until he wakes up.' He says determined.
'Well let's go then.' Brian walks in the direction of Joe's trailer, closely followed by the others.

A while later they are sitting in front of Joe's trailer, while Ben is inside with him.
The blond is sitting in a chair next to Joe's bed, and stares straight ahead, deeply absorbed in his thoughts.
Every now and then Joe mumbles something in his sleep, breaking through Ben's thoughts.

Suddenly, Ben sees Joe starts shaking all over.
The ginger boy starts tossing and turning as some frightened whimpers roll off his tongue. 
Ben gets up, and starts shaking Joe in the hope he'll wake up. 'Calm down Joey, I'm with you. Wake up now buddy.'
From one moment to the next, Joe sits up straight in his bed. Still shaking, he looks around in panic. 
Then his eyes meet Ben's, seeing the blond's worried look. For some reason it calms Joe down.
Ben is there, he is no longer alone.
'Oh Ben, I'm so glad to see you. I really had the worst nightmare ever.' Joe says before hugging Ben.
The latter smiles as he puts his arms around the ginger. 'It's okay.' He whispers during the hug.
'W-why does it feel like I've been sleeping for hours? Joe asks confused when they let go of the hug.
'Because you have been, sleepyhead. You've been sleeping for more than 3 hours. How do you feel?' Ben asks.
As he asks, Joe tries to get up from his bed. 'I feel fine I guess.'
At that moment the boy gets dizzy and starts to stagger. He quickly sits down on the edge of the bed, to prevent himself from passing out.
'Just stay in bed for a while. You had a high fever an hour ago.' Ben says as he touches Joe's forehead with his hand again.
A warm feeling flows through Joe's body. He just doesn't know if it's from the fever or because Ben is taking such good care of him.
Ben frowns a little. 'And you still have a fever. Fortunately it's already getting less. I'll get you something to drink and eat. If you feel like it, of course?'
He sees a weak smile appear on Joe's face.
'Oh please, I'm starving. What time is it actually?' The ginger asks while searching for his phone or watch.
'Uhm, I have no idea.' Ben says with a giggle. 'I've been sitting here all this time waiting for you to finally wake up.' He says joking. 'But I'll just ask someone.'
Joe looks up surprised. 'Ask someone? There is still someone on the set then? After all those hours?'
Ben smiles, but doesn't answer Joe's questions. All he does is open the door of the trailer.
Outside the trailer are Rami, Gwilym, Brian, Roger, and Dexter. They all smile at Joe.
The latter is speechless for a moment.
'Hi Joe, how are you feeling?' Brian asks friendly.
'Uhm, fine I guess. Wow guys, you stayed here for me all this time?' The ginger asks amazed.
'Of course we stayed for you. A band needs its bass player right?' Rami playfully sticks out his tongue.
Gwil nudges him in the side as he rolls his eyes. 'And you sounded really sick this morning, so we wanted to make sure it was just a fever.' He explains.
'But.... This morning? How late is it?' Joe looks at his friends, in fear of having lost an entire day too sleeping and being sick.
'No stress, it's only noon.' Roger says with a smile.
'You know what? Take the rest of the day off. All four of you. We're over a month ahead of schedule, so you've earned this.' Dexter says.
The four actors look questioningly at Roger and Brian.
'He's right guys. You earned a day off. We are so proud of you.' Brian says smiling. Roger nods in agreement.
'Well okay then. I'll drive us to our hotel. Maybe we can watch a movie or something?' Joe says enthusiasticaly.
'Whatever you do, have fun guys. We'll see you tomorrow on the set again.' With these words Brian and Roger make their way to the exit.
Then Joe turns to Rami and Gwil. 'So movie it is?' He asks as he grabs his car keys.
Gwil raises his eyebrow. 'Your plan might not be such a good idea Joe.' He says.
'Well okay maybe not watch a movie then. What you want.' Joe shrugs.
Rami bursts out laughing.
Gwil gives him a disturbed look. 'That's not what I meant Joe. What I meant was that you and driving isn't such a good idea at the moment.'
Joe takes a deep breath to start argue with Gwilym, but at that point Rami says: 'Hey uhm guys, did anyone see where Ben went?'

The three boys search the entire set, but cannot find Ben.
They ask every crew member to see if they might've seen where the blond boy went. But for so far it's in vain.
'Let's head to the car. Then we'll call him there. He clearly isn't here anymore.' Gwil suggests.
Rami nods in agreement. 'Yeah, let's go. Joe needs his rest today.' He says.
Joe yawns. 'What do you mean? I'm fine.' He mumbles.
Gwil and Rami look at each other, before walking towards the parking lot.
Joe groans before following his friends. 'Wait for me!'

Once arrived at the car, Rami tries to reach Ben by phone.
Joe has sat down in the backseat of the car after he started to feel a little dizzy again.
Gwil is walking around the set in case Ben suddenly appears. Then something comes to Gwil's mind. A place in the neighborhood that Ben always likes to visit during lunch breaks.
The tall boy rushes back to the car as quickly as possible to tell the other two boys that he is going to search Ben at this spot.
As soon as he arrives at the car, he sees that Rami is still outside the car with his phone in his hands. 'Rami, I think I know where to find Ben!' Gwil calls from a distance.
Rami immediately gestures for him to be quiet.
Gwil gives him a questioning look, but then Rami points to the car window with a smile.
Gwil looks through the window and sees Joe sleeping in the backseat. A smile appears on his face as well.
'I think Ben is near that bridge nearby. He always likes to go there.'
Rami raises his thumb, which means he has understood Gwil.
The latter runs to Ben's favorite spot.He follows the signs at the side of the sidewalk, and arives at Ben's favorite spot.
And there he sees the blond standing on the bridge, looking down to the water......
