Noticing your friends had left you alone with the officer, you let out a breath you hadn't noticed you were holding.
"Isn't it weird that we keep meeting like this?" You chuckled shyly, giving a lousy attempt at flirting with the man. Still, you were being honest. This was crazy. He smiled warmly and nodded, kneeling down so that he could talk to you at your height. You were sitting down on the couch and he was extremely tall.
"Seems like destiny wants us to get to know each other." He smiled excitedly, looking into your eyes sweetly.
Feeling flustered, your cheeks grew warmer and warmer under his sweet gaze. Even his voice was comforting, his overall presence once again melting your pain away. You nodded, looking away from his intimidating eyes.
"Ah-, I didn't get the chance to thank you earlier. You know, for helping me after that guy pushed me against the glass."
He smiled.
"No problem! It's my duty." He paused, looking at your face and examining your eyes. He thought you looked beautiful. "May I?"
"W-what?" You stuttered, feeling as if your entire head was fuming. He was staring at you intently, and his question seemed as if he was asking to kiss you.
"I-I meant, may I check for the bump?" He replied nervously, just now making you notice he had been holding a hand up behind your head as he wiggled it in front of your eyes. He simply wanted to check for that bump that had formed at the mall.
OH.
"Y-yeah, no problem." Your voice thinned out as he started patting your head, fingers softly touching you and stopping once he spotted the now much smaller deformed mass.
His eyes squinted a little as he focused on his touch on you, making a special effort to not press too hard and hurt you. You took advantage of his concentration to ogle at his beauty. His hair looked soft as it fell smoothly down his face and his slightly pale skin gave him an older more mature look. He had thick eyelashes that contoured his eyes as if he had eyeliner. Trailing a little south, your eyes met his lips, mind then wondering how they would feel on your own.
"Were you injured?" He snapped you out of whatever hypnosis you had put yourself into, making you jump slightly and stare at him in confusion.
"Pardon?"
"Did the escapee injure you or any of your friends?" He stood up and regained some space between the two, hand leaving your head and letting the warm feeling be replaced with the coldness of the air.
"Oh! No, they immobilized him quickly enough." You said, patting the exact spot where his hand had been. You wanted it back.
"How are you feeling?" He broke out of his attempt of a serious and formal character to talk to you. You had been through a lot this past hours, he knew because he had been part of all of that.
"Confused, I guess, but I'm fine. Thank you." You smiled, getting up. You didn't feel comfortable with him being up while you sat down lazily. "As weird as things have been I still got something good out of it." You smiled slyly, staring at his lips and then back into his eyes.
Seeing your sudden change in attitude, Rosinante felt his body tensing up under your gaze. He smiled at you, body scooting closer to yours as he, as well, didn't tear his eyes away from you for a second. His stomach fluttering and making him feel like a schoolgirl made the experience even more entrancing. God how he wanted to kiss you.
The craziest thing was that he barely knew you, but he felt like he did. It was weird and didn't make any sense, but that was how he felt.
Sighing, he shook his head softly and came back to his senses. He was still under a police operation. His captain would be here at any moment and he hadn't got any work done. Most importantly of all, he had to ensure your safety.
