Cringing at the outcome of what destiny thought was a perfect plan, the creature realized its mistake. The one to burden the relationship wasn't you, it was the blonde man. Destiny had put you in the spot, making you mentally and physically vulnerable in a situation in which he gave Rosinante, and only Rosinante, the control to decide what the next step for you was going to be. Now, it only had to find a way to put you in control, to make you take the reins and drive the relationship to a better tomorrow.

Kind of like the opposite of what happened that night.

An evilly excited smile was etched upon destiny's features. Rosinante would be the injured one this time.

During the two first weeks that passed after what you thought was your final incident with Rosinante, you made the decision to move on. Although your heart still belonged to whom you now referred to as an "insensitive jerk", you knew it was only a matter of time for you to find peace within yourself. A peace in which you accepted that he was out of your life forever, that he wasn't ever going to come back and that the Rosinante you had fallen in love with wasn't the same man you had slept with that night.

That's what you kept telling yourself.

Either way, if whatever things you made up in your head to convince you that you would eventually feel better turned into a reality or not, you were pushing through. Your friends visited you now that you had finally opened up to them about everything that had happened, keeping it vague with the group but not missing any detail with your closest friends.

Most of them were surprised by the turn of events, telling you things like how they really thought he was going to be your forever love. It was like pouring lemon juice into a fresh wound.

On the other side, the girls knew exactly what had happened, at least from your point of view, so they already hated Rosinante. Zoro, though, was still trying to understand things. Of course he was mad at your ex, specially after finding out how big of a cowardly jerk he had been with you the night you were mugged, but things simply didn't add up.

It didn't matter anyways. You had made it clear that you had no intentions in chasing after the cop, so, right now, what mattered the most to him was helping you back up on your own two feet. It was a tougher job than he thought.

"Come on (Y/N)! It will be fun." He pestered you, trying to convince you to go have lunch with him and your friends.

You didn't reply, staring at him and Nami blankly.

Although you tried your hardest to get over your ex, the insensitive jerk, you knew better than to leave your apartment. He had a way of sneaking into your daily life whenever you walked in public and you couldn't be sure that you wouldn't break down like a baby if you happened to cross paths with him.

"I'm not leaving my apartment." You mumbled with a frown.

"You will have to leave someday. I won't do your errands forever." He said exhaustedly.

He was actually just coming back from grocery shopping. Your grocery shopping.

In my defense... he offered to shop for me until I felt better!

Law snored softly as he rested on your lap, the dog fast asleep under your caring touch. You looked like the typical villain of an old disney movie. Dark and gloomy as you caressed your sleeping pet.

"Just this once... please?" Said Nami as she and Zoro looked at you with adorable puppy eyes.

Your heart broke.

The way they childishly pleaded for your company had won you over.

"Ugh! Alright, but it's just lunch!"
