Not more than thirty minutes had passed since you both watched the sunrise together and you were already back in your apartment, standing nervously in front of your door as you didn't quite feel ready to leave Rosinante's side yet. On your ride back home you felt the nervousness and initial tensions disappear completely, talking together as if you had been buddies for life. You had both really loosened up to each other since the first time you met, and it made you crave for some more of his company.
"I had a really good time." You smiled at him, taking in a sharp breath as he got closer to you and slowly snaked his hands around your waist.
He had wore down his self control throughout the whole night and, as much as he tried to keep an appropriate distance from you, he couldn't. Cuddling with you in that lake had played with his mind too much and, having gotten used to your closeness throughout the night, he, just like you, wasn't quite ready to let go of you yet.
"Me too." He said, looking down at you nostalgically.
He felt incredibly stupid. Like the stereotype of a young naive girl that had fallen in love for the first time. He hadn't even left your side and he was already missing your sweet and comforting company. Wondering if there was an excuse to make him stay with you, maybe even hang out in your apartment, he finally gave up. It was too early to take you out to get breakfast, and that would mean robbing you the chance to rest for the remainder of the morning. He couldn't simply invite himself to your apartment and there was no chance of inviting you on a walk, given that it was literally what you had come back from. Other than these, he found no other realistic excuse that wouldn't make you think he was a needy moron.
"I'll text you later for our date." He smiled warmly.
"Oh yeah!" You replied, eyes nervously looking around the hallway.
You were trying to think of a way to make him stay, but you couldn't really think of anything. The exact same train of thoughts that had passed through Rosinante clouded your mind.
Breakfast? Too early. A walk? Now that would be stupid... Invite him in? A little weird maybe. What if he says no? Ugh.
"Bye then." He sighed, kissing your forehead and peeling himself off of you.
You looked at him nervously, teeth munching your lip down in a way to help you throw your pride away and making the process just a tad less painful.
"COFFEE." You suddenly said, cursing at yourself and at how weird you were acting.
Shutting your eyes tightly, you gulped a bit of saliva to calm your nerves down. You were smooth when conquering a man's heart, usually, but this man's heart made everything much more special and it was hard for you to remember how to use your basic social skills.
He stared at you questioningly, face showing his perplexed state. You had just screeched a random word at him and he was too tired to go ahead and try to puzzle the pieces together to see what you meant by "coffee". Seeing you weren't going to explain yourself, he decided to ask.
"Wh-"
"Would you like some coffee before you leave?" You finally asked, in a much proper way and in a language which he would understand.
"Oh." He smiled, eyes glinting knowingly.
Seeing your awkwardness and small fidgeting, he realized you wanted to hang around him just as much as he did.
"I'd love that." He replied, relaxing and letting out a breath he had been holding as a way of improving his disposition to leave. He didn't need it anymore.
"Great." You cheered, smiling as you fished through your purse in search of your keys.
They jingled in your hand, opening your door up and finally revealing your absolutely trashed place.
FUCK.
You quickly closed the door in front of you before Rosinante could get as much of a peek of the place. It wasn't really that disgusting, but it was pretty messy. This had been the place in which you got ready for the party with your friends, so there was makeup and plenty amounts of clothes thrown around the floor and counters. It wasn't the sight you wanted the handsome man to get the first time he entered your place.
"What's wrong?" Asked Rosinante worriedly. "Is there an intruder?" He said, face twisting into a serious and angered frown as his hands reached down to where his gun and badge where.
Has he freaking had them this whole time?!
"Uh- N-no! It's clear." You said with a nervous smile. "It's just... I didn't really have time to clean up before leaving for the club." You smiled sheepishly, hoping that neither you nor him would make a big deal out of the mess you called your apartment. "Let me just put some stuff away first." You nodded, finally coming to a simple solution.
He stared at you blankly. His fight or flight instincts had kicked in when he thought about an intruder in your home and he had yet to come out of the ready-to-fight state of mind. Having gained a menacing pose with his gun in hand, he realized he must have looked kind of stupid and exaggerated, thoughts that caused a small blush to rise up to his pale cheeks. He chuckled innocently as he put his gun away, shaking his head and bowing at you.
"I'm sorry about that. Don't worry about the mess, though. I won't judge." He laughed, raising his hands in the air in an innocent manner.
You pondered on that for a couple of seconds. It made sense. Making him wait outside would be very rude, specially considering the fact that he drove you around all night and had been a. Absolute gentleman with you. Still, you didn't want him to see the mess. You weren't usually like that, but your friends had pressured you to leave very quickly and you ended up leaving everything scattered on the floor.
No. I can't just close the door on his face because of my messiness.
Opening the door shyly, you invited the blonde man in.
As soon as the man entered the room, his face flared a bright red and his eyes tried to find somewhere to land in where there wouldn't be any of your sensual lingerie. Unluckily for his flustered self, his eyes landed on no other than you. Because of this, he saw, almost in slow motion, the way you noticed his incredibly red face and how his eyes inevitably drifted south in search of which piece of underwear you had settled for.
Seeing his flustered state finally made you realize that, together with the many outfits, there were also many pieces of sexy underwear lying around your floor, couches, table; basically everywhere.
Dear god.
