The Third Task

Harry's POV

Easter had come around and Ron had received a reply from Percy as well as Mrs. Weasley sending us all an Easter egg. Y/N had also received a letter from Mr and Mrs. Weasley as well.

Y/N

Don't let whatever is in the Prophet get you down Molly and I both know you are nothing like your grandfather. We have never forgotten what you have done for our family in rescuing Ginny from the chamber and saving Ron earlier this year. Know that if you want to talk to either of us we are only an owl away.

Arthur Weasley.

"That's so kind of them." Hermione said to Y/N.

"Yeah it really is." He replied placing the letter down and looking over at Ron who had Percy's letter.

Ron started to read the letter aloud.

"As I am constantly telling the Daily Prophet, Mr. Crouch is taking a well-earned break. He is sending in regular owls with instructions. I have not seen him, but I think I can be trusted to know my own superior's handwriting. I have enough to do at the moment without trying to addresses these ridiculous rumours. Please don't bother me again unless it is important. Happy Easter."

"Ron don't take this the wrong way, but your brother is an absolute fucking tosser." Y/N said to him.

"Your not wrong there mate." Ron said to him.

We continued to talk about the upcoming third task when the portrait opened and in walked McGonagall.

"Potter, L/N." she said as she walked over to us. "You are to go down to the Quidditch field tonight at nine o'clock. Mr Bagman will be there to tell you about the third task."

"Okay Professor." I said as she left the common room.

As it got closer to nine o'clock that night Y/N and I left the common room and headed for the pitch. We continued walking towards the pitch when we were joined by Cedric.

"Hey guys what do you reckon it could be?" He asked.

"I have no clue any ideas Y/N?" I asked.

"No I don't have any the quidditch pitch though must be something vast to use up the entire pitch."

We continued to trade ideas on what It could be before we reached the pitch to see huge hedges sprouting off in every direction.

"What's happened to the pitch?" Cedric asked.

"My guess is a maze of some description." Y/N said. "Maybe we have to find our way through the maze towards the cup."

"Ah the Hogwarts champions excellent." Bagman said as we came closer to the hedges.

Fleur saw us and flashed us all a smile one we returned, Krum nodded his head at Cedric and I and scowled at Y/N as he usually did.

"Well what do you think?" Bagman asked us all. "Growing nicely aren't they? Give them a month and Hagrid will have them twenty feet high. Don't worry you will have your Quidditch pitch back to normal after the task is done." He said with a smile.

"Now I imagine you can all guess what we are making." Bagman said.

"Maze." Krum grunted as he looked at the hedge.

"That's right a maze. The third task's really straightforward. The Triwizard cup will be placed in the middle of the maze. The first champion to touch it will receive full marks." Bagman said.

"So we 'ave to get through the maze?" Fleur asked.

"That's right Miss Delacour. But there will be obstacles." Bagman said joyously. "Hagrid will supply a number of creatures......They will be some enchantments that must be broken amongst other challenges. Now Since the Hogwarts champions are all tied on points they will be the first to enter.....then Mr Krum and then Miss Delacour. Now you will all be in with a fighting chance to win the cup as there are any different ways you can reach it. Should be a barrel of fun eh?"
