A/N: There will be a lot of gender dysphoria talk in this book as well as dark thoughts. Please keep that in mind as you're reading! For Intensive trigger warnings I will put *** marks within the chapter going forward, but obviously read at your own risk. I'm not your mother and I have no clue what triggers you.
Mustard triggers me, but no one puts a *** there...lol?
Let's get on with the chapter!

"Five, six, seven, eight..." Kailani moved her body with Mr. Schuester's choreography, following along from beside her brother as she tried her hardest to avoid Finn's large stomping steps on her other side, not wanting her much smaller feet to be crushed. "Step and step...step and step...and turn it around. Down and up and hit, hit, down, hit..."
Kailani shared a smile with her brother, who tipped his hat to her with a quiet laugh. She would have matched more with him besides her grey button up, white pants, and white bowtie, but she drew the line when it came to the alaskan style hat on his head.
"Can we stop, please?" Rachel suddenly spoke up, as Brad quickly stopped playing the piano so Mr. Schuester could address the student.
"You don't have to ask me every time for permission to go to the bathroom, Rachel." Mr. Schue said, as the jewish girl frowned. "You can just go."
"It's not my bladder." Rachel shook her head. "It's the choreography."
Turning around with a frown clear across his face, Mr. Schuester crossed his arms over his chest.
"Okay, what's wrong with the choreography?"
"It sucks." Rachel stated, as Kailani turned towards the girl in surprise.
As the tension in the choir room rose, Kailani participated in the surprised looks exchanged around the room. Her brows pulled together, however, when she noticed the amused looks on the three newest members' faces. Much to her surprise last week, the Unholy Trinity – Quinn Fabray, Santana Lopez, Brittany Pierce – had auditioned and were added to the New Directions' roster for the year, somehow being interested in a sub-basement level club.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Mr. Schuester asked, shocked, as he stared at the girl in complete disbelief.
"We can't compete with Vocal Adrenaline with these steps." Rachel explained. "You're a great vocal coach, Mr. Schue, but you're not a trained choreographer. That's what we need to be the best. We need Dakota Stanley. He was an understudy on Broadway!"
"Just because he understudied doesn't mean he ever performed." Mr. Schuester quickly countered, causing Kailani to raise a brow and silently nod in agreement.
One thing that often caught Kailani for another is the fact Rachel continued to forget they were a part of a High School glee club. Yes, they possessed a lot of potential, but they should be focusing on growing their voices as a team rather than their dancing abilities at this moment in the game. Compared to Vocal Adrenaline, they may never get the chance to be as conditioned as them, so why should they try to be something they're not? Kailani never understood the priorities of this group. Especially since they were still down a few members from even being able to compete in a competition.
