"I'm confused," Santana admitted, tilting her head and looking over the chalkboard Carmen had just finished writing across.

"I never understood anything Mrs. Rivera taught to begin with," Alisha admitted, shrugging her shoulders when Santana rolled her eyes. "Don't act like Kailani wasn't the star student of the century. It's no wonder Carmen's friends with Elizabeth; Kai could have been her child!"

Sharing a look with Carmen, Elizabeth smiled at the information. She leaned forward along the table to grab another marshmallow from the bowl in the center of Carmen's snacks, placing one in her mouth with a quick glance toward Quinn as the blonde eyed her wedding ring. She offered Santana a small smile, tapping her pencil along her notebook.

"The concept of time travel is complicated." Elizabeth clarified. "Kailani's goals for time travel were unknown, but most people don't truly know why they would travel in time."

"We do." Kurt tilted his head. "To get my sister back. To get my nieces and nephews back."

"And their goal was to get their mothers back," Quinn added, sighing softly. She continued to twirl the ring around her fingers. "And...I don't know what Lani's goals were."

"Science." Mackenzie declared, looking up from a textbook in front of her filled with Post-it notes.

"Confused," Alisha muttered, smiling sheepishly when Kurt rolled his eyes.

"Both Kailanis time traveled with the intention of improving the human race," Mackenzie explained. "I think our Kailani and your Kailani had around the same ideas...most likely from sharing a soul."

"But Juniper shared a soul, and she never time traveled besides to go get her mother from the past." Santana attempted to debunk the theory given to them. "And Kailani worked through soul surfing. She already improved the human race."

"They've been improving the human race since they were born." Alisha bobbed her head and chuckled when Kurt sighed and nodded in agreement.

"I have to say I agree with Alisha."

"Sadly," Santana muttered but nodded in agreement before moving forward. "How can we compare Kailani and Kailani if Juniper is in the same situation but has nothing in common with this theory?"

"She loved wheels."

The group looked to Quinn as she spoke up and finally looked away from the ring spinning between her fingers. They exchanged a few looks and patiently waited for the blonde to finish sliding her ring over her finger before she could continue.
