"Give myself this letter." Kailani had told Quinn before ever handing her the watch. "I'll know what it means."

Simple instructions.

When would Quinn learn that nothing simple ever came associated with the name Kailani?

She had to focus on Juniper. Kailani Dawns had told her to focus on pulling Juniper behind her like a protection move, but all Quinn could think about was her lover. She was supposed to control this time jumping mentally. What an absurd thing to construct when they could all agree she was deeply unfocused and unstable mentally after these past few years. It was popping her into the wrong timelines and indeed causing ripples with each tap against the floor of a new room. She hadn't seen her Kailani anywhere, much less Juniper and Kailani Dawns.

"Damn it!" Quinn cursed in frustration once she looked around.

She had developed into an unfamiliar room, her eyes taking in the surroundings with curiosity. The dormitory was compact, but filled with intriguing details that hinted at the personalities of its inhabiting students. On one side, a neatly made bed with perfectly arranged pillows and a pristine desk adorned with academic awards gave off an air of studiousness and ambition. The books neatly stacked on the shelf seemed to mirror the organized nature of this student.

On the other side of the room, the scene was completely different. A colorful comforter lay crumpled on the bed, surrounded by a pile of clothes and scattered art supplies. Posters of vibrant landscapes adorned the walls, creating a lively and creative atmosphere. A guitar propped against the wall spoke of a love for music and self-expression.

Together, these contrasting elements painted a vivid picture of two completely different students coexisting in this shared space. It was a visual representation of the diversity and uniqueness found within the dormitory, showcasing the harmonious blending of different personalities and interests.

"Luce?"

Quinn spun around, her gaze fixated on Kailani's widened eyes, a clear display of fright. Without hesitation, Kailani threw up her hands in a desperate attempt to form a coherent sentence. However, all words seemed to escape her, and instead, she instinctively reached for the door handle, seeking support and assistance in the face of the unexpected situation.

"It's just me. It's...It's Quinn." Quinn voiced, unsure how to calm Kailani's undoubtedly rising blood pressure. "You'll forget I was ever here."

"You look..." Kailani glanced around Quinn's face and blinked vigorously. "Older? Uh...Well, uh...I-I...How do you...look..."

"Woah!"

Quinn sprang into action, swiftly leaping forward as she noticed Kailani swaying and struggling to maintain her balance. Thanking her high school years for being so athletic and agile even after being paralyzed for years, Quinn gracefully slid to the floor and caught Kailani's limp head, pulling her into a tight embrace as she slumped in her arms.
