You'll have to use your imagination on this chapter. Very August and other timeline based!

Bang!

The wind whispered around the sixteen year old teasingly as August laid in the middle of the dark forest. The trees above her foggy gaze waving widely in the precious wind.

August felt cold. There was a loud ringing noise in her ears. A tingling sensation vibrated around her body as August lay within the damp scratchy leaves. Her body screamed for movement, any movement at all. He would come back for her soon and August would be dead.

It was only a matter of time.

"Momma," August whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut tightly. Her voice sounded raspy as August spoke in such a whisper it probably was barely heard over the loud wind.

The pounding in her head was becoming unbearable. How could she possibly continue to lie here and wait for death? Is this how her sister felt? How her mother felt? Her aunts? Waiting for the damage to finally break through the wall that decided if she was to move forward or die an early death.

Only the good die young or something like that.

He would come back for me.

He said he would.

He promised.

August shakily lifted up her heavy hands in front of her face. They were stained with her own blood. A dark crimson red color painted against her pale fingers from the wound on her stomach. Maybe she would bleed out before he returned.

Save yourself.

Her eyes fluttered uncomfortably as August laid her hands back down onto her stomach, a weak grip on her green jacket. A jacket that would no longer be only green, instead it would probably be an example of a Christmas horror costume. The perfect addition for Vaughn's halloween horror night costume the coming October when she went to Universal with her friends.

Red and green.

Her throat felt dry as she attempted to swallow the thick lump building inside. August's heart hammered angrily in her ears, blood pumping loudly with every wheezing breath. A quick unearthly skip to it's pattern every now and then as she tried her best to fight off the numbing pain coursing through her veins.
