Across the broken city, Daniel stepped through a portal with his eyes stuck on the teenager limp in his arms. He had to act quickly if he was going to make any change to Hunter and Holden's plans, but it would absolutely risk what family he had left. There was a huge chance he'd have to return her, but at least he could try to see what the out come would be elsewhere.
Daniel laid August down on the bed of his penthouse-like room he had gained inside the battle. Picking sides had been more of a survival choice than anything. He needed to be on top to protect himself and this world, even if the benefits weren't all that great for his low status in the Ryan's revolution. At least he was valued accordingly, given his understanding of both the Ryan and Dawn design.
"You're back."
Daniel turned and smiled softly when he noticed Sky standing in the doorway of his room. She had always been the one to greet him when he returned from his adventures. He assumed it was due to her curiosity more than her need for Daniel to be more than a neutral party like Sage, but he could live with that. It wasn't his job to be anything but vigilant at this time. His life was further forward, but day by day, it ticked away into unseen nothingness.
"And somehow, I knew you'd be the one to greet me."
"Well, you set off the monitors on purpose." Sky frowned.
"I did. I need a favor." Daniel motioned to August on the bed as Sky stepped forward and eyed the young teenager. "I want to know how she dies in her timeli—"
Sky's dark eyes glossed over in seconds, and a frantic script of silver numbers and letters traveled through her vision. She didn't move until they disappeared, though still remaining stiff as a board.
"Augusta Sea Forbes. Thirteen." Sky repeated as Daniel flashed a light in her eyes and watched interestingly how her body reacted to the brain stimulation under her father's command versus how the teenagers responded under Kailani Dawns' unknowing loose influence. "Cause of death...Electrocution."
"Hm." Daniel hummed, not pleased by the results. "Age of death?"
"Twenty-three." Sky responded more robotic than human.
Daniel's breath hitched at the information. He slowly nodded and looked to August worriedly.
"Details." He forced out.
"Augusta Sea Forbes is the only passanger in a car accident at 10:47 p.m when her boyfriend's truck hydroplanes into a ditch on their way back from visiting her sister's college in Syracuse." Sky stared straight forward without an ounce of empathy in her features. "County Sheriffs responded to Country Route 107B where they reported the truck had collided with a fallen tree during an unexpected gust storm. The driver, Daniel Finn Schuester, and a passanger, Augusta Sea Forbes left the vehical after crashing in a ditch to assess damages."
