While the group bounced between checking on a handcuffed Vaughn and trying to handle the virus breaking through her veins, A-2 was blasted across the warehouse by three bright silver beams.

"Ah!"

"Au—" Q shouted, cutting herself off quickly as she ran toward her daughter. "A-2! A-2, open your eyes!"

Q dove down beside A-2 as the teenager's eyes glowed violently, and her body thrashed. She grabbed her shoulders and held her down until the body underneath her began to fade.

"What's happening?" S asked as Juniper fell down beside A-2.

"A-2!" Juniper tried to touch her sister, but B was quick to yank her back. "Stop! She's in pain!"

"She's not in pain!" S insisted, pulling Q back from A-2 as she suddenly disappeared into the floor and a single blue and silver orb floated up.

"What's that?" Juniper asked, falling into Q's arms for comfort.

She hugged the woman tightly as the blue glob teased in front of her face. Q tucked Juniper's face away from the light as it floated around the teenager's head before darting off. She quickly stood up and followed the beam with Juniper's wrist in her hand, frowning deeply when it shot into her other sleeping daughter.

"Momma!" Juniper whimpered frightfully.

"That doesn't seem good," E murmured.

The orb shot out of Vaughn, swirling briefly before returning to her chest with a violent surge of light. In response, she gasped, her silver eyes snapping open as she strained against the handcuffs holding her to the metal pole. After trembling for a moment, the tingling sensation throughout her body finally subsided.

Vaughn opened her eyes, only to frown when she felt a gentle pain in her hand. She realized that her mother's wedding ring was burning her ring finger. She instinctively moved to remove it, but hesitated when she realized that she was no longer in the warehouse or on the playground.

"There is already potential for a catastrophic change in every timeline if we don't do this right!" A voice snapped from around the small wall. "There's no telling what we've already changed!"

"We have to be hopeful it's right." Another voice, more feminine sounding, jumped in. "If we—"

"I've about had it with this optimistic shit." A familiar voice snapped.

Vaughn's eyes widened as she took in the scene before her. Stepping around the corner, her gaze fell upon her Aunt Santana, but to her surprise and confusion, she also spotted her Momma, Uncle Kurt, and Aunt Alisha among four other girls. It was an unexpected gathering of familiar faces, leaving Vaughn momentarily speechless.
